After earning a Double Honours degree in English and History at the University of Toronto, Andrew moved to Los Angeles to attend the American Film Institute's Screenwriting MFA programme.
Upon graduation, Andrew was hired by independent producer, Miles Maker, to write a feature screenplay based on the real story of the Valley Manor Retirement Home about a cook (Maurice Jones) and a janitor (Miguel Alvarez) who stayed without pay to care for abandoned elderly residents when their assisted living home was shut down. The feature script entitled, If We Left was shortlisted for the prestigious San Francisco Film Society's Hearst Grant.
Andrew was hired as a story editor on the inaugural season of the Shaftesbury produced period detective drama Frankie Drake Mysteries. Andrew wrote the episode entitled, Healing Hands (Season One) and returned as Executive Story Editor for season two writing the episode entitled, Emancipation Day. Andrew is now a Consulting Producer for season three of Frankie Drake Mysteries.
Andrew also worked as Executive Story Editor for the inaugural season of the groundbreaking CBC drama Diggstown. Andrew wrote episode 103 entitled, Taisir Ahmed.
Andrew's love of genre, sci-fi and hip-hop sparked a connection with visionary director Randall Throne aka "RT!" who hired him as Consulting Producer on his dystopian teen drama Utopia Falls which is set to debut on Hulu and CBC Gem in early 2020.
