Darkness Reigns
Stars: Casper Van Dien, Zachary Mooren, Linara Washington, Peter Mayer, Ford Fanter, Jennifer Wenger, James Packard, Aerial Nicole, Matt Connor, Vanessa Leinani, Megan Goldthrite, Timeka Little | Written and Directed by Andrew P. Jones
Name: Darkness Reigns
Age: 2018
Appearance: Found footage horror featuring some surprisingly effective gory flourishes, a few creepy moments and an ageless Casper Van Dien (he of Starship Troopers).
Darkness Reigns. Demon Pains.
Not another bloody found footage horror?
Now, hang about. This one isn’t too bad. For a start, it has a plot and it doesn’t look as if it was filmed on a dodgy iPhone by a group of hysterical students. And without going into spoiler territory, what starts off with the usual found footage trope of ‘the film you are about to see is real’, turns into a story that is a little more imaginative and nightmarish than your usual ‘let...

I don't know about you, but I'm a big fan of those reality ghost hunting shows. I find them extremely entertaining for some reason. Well, writer and director Andrew P. Jones took the basic concept of those shows and turned it into a movie, but with everything a little over-exaggerated. The movie is called Haunting of Cellblock 11. It may not look like the best movie to some of you, but sometimes I enjoy watching a ridiculous B horror movie. Here's a detailed synopsis:
In Haunting of Cellblock 11, a television ghost hunting show called "Ghost Sightings" is having trouble capturing compelling paranormal activity and faces possible cancellation by the TV network. As luck would have it, they are approached by an elderly man who is being tormented by entities and needs the team's help to rid him of his unrelenting demons. In a last ditch effort to capture apparitional evidence,...

New Killing Them Softly movie delivered wicked violence, tons of dialogue & more. The Weinstein Company released their new comedy/crime flick "Killing Them Softly" into theaters this weekend. I just watched it and thought it was just about ok and sorta funny at times. It delivered a lot of dialogue scenes that were mostly interesting, but at times, could send me right to sleep. The movie stars: Brad Pitt, James Gandolfini, Sam Rockwell, Richard Jenkins, Bella Heathcote, Vincent Curatola, Ray Liotta, Scoot McNairy, Ben Mendelsohn, and Linara Washington. In the new flick, Two crazy guys named Frankie and Russell think they're smart, and rob a mob protected card game, causing the local criminal economy to collapse. Then mafia hit man ,Jackie Cogan (Brad Pitt), is hired to track them down and restore order. Jackie eventually meets up with a guy named Driver. From there, Jackie goes on a killing spree...

Get yourself a shower, go to bed – says Brad Pitt to James Gandolfini in this completely new clip from their upcoming Killing Them Softly movie which opens in a few days! I’m sure you already know everything about Andrew Dominik‘s crime film, the reviews are pretty good, and as you’ll see from this video – the cast definitely looks perfect. I mean, take Gandolfini for example – is there a better guy to portray lazy & depressed hitman? Hell no!
So, here’s a little reminder. First of all, the movie is actually based on George V. Higgins 1974 novel Cogan’s Trade which follows professional enforcer Jackie Cogan, who investigates a heist that occurs during a high-stakes, mob-protected poker game.
Beside great Pitt who stars as the above mentioned Cogan, the rest of the Killing Them Softly cast includes Sam Rockwell, Richard Jenkins, Bella Heathcote, Vincent Curatola, Ray Liotta, Scoot McNairy,...

Sexy film icon Brad Pitt‘s latest feature, Killing Them Softly, doesn’t get a wide release until later next week, but the film has already garnered positive reviews that highlight his performance (like our own Killing Them Softly review). To get moviegoers even more excited for the film, a new trailer debuted online yesterday via IGN and you can check it out for yourself below.
From writer/director Andrew Dominik, who also helmed another Brad Pitt starrer, The Assasination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, and adapted from a novel by George V. Higgins, Killing Them Softly follows professional enforcer, Jackie Cogan (Pitt), who investigates a heist that occurs during a high stakes, mob-protected, poker game.
With a subtly violent style and hints at beautiful performances all around, the trailer looks very promising. There are some great shots to be seen here, and I was pleasantly surprised...
