Vladimir Matveev is a Soviet and Russian theater, film and dubbing actor. People's Artist of the Russian Federation.
Born in the village of Sladkovo, Tyumen region. He graduated from high school in the city of Pervouralsk, Sverdlovsk region. In 1970 Vladimir moved to Leningrad, where he entered the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography on the course of People's Artist of the USSR Igor Vladimirov. After graduating from the institute in 1974, he was accepted into the troupe of the Lensovet Theater. In 1986 he left it and worked for three years at the Lenconcert Young Theater and the Krasnoyarsk Youth Theater. In 1989 he returned to the theater Lensoviet, where he served until the last days of his life. In 1993 he received the title 'Honored Artist of the Russian Federation'.
