Nathan Zellner and David Zellner’s Sasquatch Sunset is stomping into circa 850 theaters this weekend after debuting in 9 with a solid opening for a film many could find weird. A tribe of Sasquatch, possibly the last of their kind, live and love in the woods of northern California, where it was shot.

“We are taking Bigfoot to America. We have high hopes that the broader market will embrace the movie,” says Kyle Davies of distributor Bleecker Street, calling it “a very different” kind of movie and “a bit of an unknown.”

Deadline reports that Daniels has teamed up with Michael Koman, co-creator of Nathan For You, for this new Office series.

The new series would not be a reboot of The Office but take place in the same universe, just set in a new office with new characters. Now that the WGA strike is nearing its end, the term is returning in a big way, and it isn't easy to be excited about this piece of TV news.

The latest edition of the Puck newsletter broke the news that a reboot of the NBC iteration of The Office is in development.

The only bit of good news is that Greg Daniels, who brought the Steve Carell comedy series to life, will shepherd the new adaptation.

There are no details on where the potential series would air, but it's hard to imagine any network not jumping at the opportunity of bringing the iconic comedy back to life.

A reboot of “The Office” is reportedly in the works from series co-creator Greg Daniels, according to Puck journalist Matthew Belloni.

In his Sunday newsletter about what may happen in the wake of the WGA strike coming to an end, Belloni cautioned that once the ratification of the WGA’s deal with the AMPTP happens there will be a “stampede” that revolves around “every show and movie fighting for the same resources as studios try to salvage their 2024 slates.”

The Office actor Leslie David Baker has announced that all donations given for a spinoff focused on his character, Stanley Hudson, will be refunded.

Baker shared in an Instagram post that he planned to send back the money from a Kickstarter campaign in 2020 for a proposed spinoff, Uncle Stan. The show intended to center around a retired Stan’s nephew asking him to help with his two kids and running a motorcycle/flower shop. The campaign’s goal was $300,000.

In a statement, Baker wrote, “We apologize about the delay in updates. We have been working behind the scenes to get everything on track and rewards fulfilled. Actor David Leslie Baker from The Office is returning any money generated through a Kickstarter campaign to launch a spinoff starring his character Stanley Hudson.

Baker hoped to revive his crossword puzzle-loving character in a series loosely titled Uncle Stan. The plot followed Stanley after he retired from Dunder Mifflin and moved to Florida. His peace is interrupted when his nephew Lucky called and said that he needed help running his Los Angeles-based motorcycle/flower shop.

The pilot was set up for Stanley to encounter new characters in a new setting, but two hurdles ultimately blocked any movement.

At this point, Baker is returning about $100,000 to fans. There was also some confusion about the final tally, which Baker explained in a recent Instagram post.

Leslie David Baker, part of the ensemble that kept people laughing on the long-running comedy hit “The Office,” is giving up plans to launch a spin-off series featuring his character, Stanley Howard.

Baker is returning the money he raised from a failed Kickstarter campaign aimed at launching a “Stanley” spin-off. Baker played the role of the grumpy and disgruntled paper salesman, Stanley Hudson, in all nine seasons of NBC’s popular sitcom.

In 2020, the actor went viral for launching a Kickstarter campaign aimed at creating a spin-off of “The Office” centered on Stanley. The project raised $110,000, but never got off the ground because of the Covid-19 pandemic and now the dual writers and actors strikes.

NBC’s The Office may have tied up many loose ends before the series concluded, but one nagging fan theory was that office pals Stanley Hudson (Leslie David Baker) and Phyllis Lapin-Vance (Phyllis Smith) hooked up.

Showbiz Cheat Sheet asked Baker and Smith if they thought their characters had a romantic tryst and they answered in a way that only Stanley and Phyllis would have tackled the question. “What would Bob (Phyllis’s husband) have done to Stanley?” Baker laughed.
