Paul Carvalho is a Montreal-based film-maker, best known for Montreal, mon amour, mon histoire (2012), a five-hour television series created in partnership with ICI Radio-Canada, the country's national public broadcaster. The series was also broadcast by PBS affiliates use as Plattsburgh's Mountain Lake PBS, and seen around the world in more than 30 languages on TV5 Monde.
He has had key creative input on some twenty documentaries since 1996. He has shot in New York and London, Rome and Rio, in the heart of both Africa and the Canadian Arctic.
Paul Carvalho did the biographies of former Quebec premier Paul Sauvé, Margaret Trudeau, Olympic champion Sylvie Fréchette, Amerindian painter Norval Morrisseau and Italian-Canadian master glass-maker Guido Nincheri.
His films have been broadcast mainly by Radio-Canada and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, but also by Arte-France and ABC Australia.
