Alma Van Heerden

Alma van Heerden is a South African actress, best known for her character as Leandri in kykNET's Een Keer Om Die Son. Durban-raised, "small town dreamer" who's been in the same small school (Kuswag) from grade one until grade 12! She is a student at the University of Stellenbosch, where she is continuing to learn more of the arts at the Drama Department. Alma has had a love for the arts since a young age. She has participated in numerous drama competitions, such as DramaWeb and ATKV Digitoneel and Tienertoneel, where she won the award for the best actress in a lead role in her grade 12 year (2021). She dreams of becoming a motivational speaker one day, to inspire and spread her story to people who need to hear it. Alma was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of sixteen, but did not let that stop her from pursuing her crazy dream. She hopes to gain enough - for lack of a better word - "fame", so that people would be willing to come to her talks and share their experiences. You can catch Alma on other films and series such as Projek Dina, Bloedhond and Showmax's own Nuwejaar. She will be walking out of 2024 with a BA drama and Theatre degree! And hopes to further her studies next year by doing her BA honors in writing.
