Bervick J. Deculus II
- Director
- Writer
- Producer
Hailing in Los Angeles, CA, where his parents fulfilled professional careers and were charged with an entrepreneurial spirit, Bervick was motivated to channel his energy into organized sports and education.
Bervick grew fond of film directing, writing, and producing during his high school tenure and never looked back. Bervick, an award-winning filmmaker, amassed 10,000 plus hours of accumulative production experience, and nearly 1,500 pages of scripting and development have proven that Bervick is battle-tested to handle film/television production of any size while facing setbacks and constraints.
Bervick has developed and created film/television projects with well-known celebrities such as Vanessa Bell Calloway, Wood Harris, and Doug E. Fresh. Bervick has directed, produced, written, and/or camera-operated over 750 hours of content, including 10 plus short films and a feature film. Bervick's body of work has captured nearly 20 film festival laurels, including Top Finalist (Friend Box) at the Hollywood Hills Screenplay Competition (2015) and Outstanding Docu-Web Series (Mouthful) at LA WebFest (2016). Bervick has embarked on newer heights with a well-received supernatural horror-thriller short film entitled, Nany, which he directed and wrote, accepting multiple awards: Best of Festival at International Black Film Festival of Nashville (2024), Best Director of Short Film at Las Vegas Black Film Festival (2024), Best Horror Short Film at Las Vegas Black Film Festival (2024), Best Short Film Director at Hollywood Horrorfest (2024), Best Suspense Short Film at Hollywood Horrorfest (2024) and Honorable Mention at Los Angeles International Horror Film Festival (2024).
Bervick naturally possesses an eye of a director and has acquired a comprehensive understanding of production aspects and conventional storytelling. Bervick is a true example of "grace under fire." He is a prominent proponent of personal accountability, project grouping/team goal-building, end-result driven, meticulous, aggressively creative, analytical thinker and innovator, pop cultural tastemaker, and infectious with his powerful intention. Bervick enjoys a cold bowl of cantaloupe with a hint of salt, experimenting with various concoctions of raw juices, watching movies or binge-watching shows, and acquiring a collection of motivational catchphrases to not only empower himself but others who share the same life's warpath.
Bervick graduated with a B.A. in Communications from Howard University while he fulfilled major cinema electives at USC as an exchange student.
