Richard Adetunji is a British actor and writer from South East London. He has starred in many theatre productions across London including the revival of Olivier Award-winning Gone Too Far! at Theatre Royal Stratford East, RUSH at the Almeida Theatre, The Second Woman at the Young Vic, and Manorism at the Southbank Centre.
Richard began his career appearing in and stage-managing student productions while studying for an Economics Degree at Warwick University. His deep love for storytelling across both stage and screen led him to change career paths after graduation and undergo training at esteemed institutions such as Kingdom Drama School and the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain. Known for his remarkable stage presence and ability to captivate audiences with his authentic portrayals, Richard thrives in playing characters with high emotional stakes as well as bringing comedic roles to life - demonstrating his versatility as an actor. Having explored numerous roles on stage, Richard is eager to expand his horizons and gain more experience in Film & TV, reflected in his weekly training regime.
Beyond acting, Richard possesses a diverse range of skills and talents. He is an adept playwright and a member of the Royal Court Theatre's Playwrighting Group. As well as that, Richard frequently enjoys writing short films and comedic shorts which he hopes to one day produce. Moreover, Richard is a vocal advocate for community engagement, social mobility, and equal opportunity for those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. He runs 'My Brother's Keeper', a book club for teenage boys with the vision of making working-class boys the most active readership in the U.K, as well as being a qualified Mental Health First Aider.
