The long-running animated cartoon series "Adventure Time" really was a show like no other, exploring the magical post-apocalyptic world of Ooo with Finn (Jeremy Shada) and Jake (Joe Dimaggio), a human boy and shapeshifting dog. It's an epic, sprawling story with an incredible voice cast that help to bring all of the colorful and unique characters to life, and that means there's some crossover with other popular movies and TV shows — heck, Dimaggio's voice is incredibly well-known in the animation world as the heavy-drinking bending robot Bender on "Futurama." But there's one connection people might not realize, and it's a pretty fun one!

It's difficult to encapsulate the impact of Pendelton Ward's animated juggernaut, "Adventure Time." Not only did the show serve as the launchpad for animators like Rebecca Sugar ("Steven Universe") and Julia Pott ("Summer Camp Island"), but it even served as the structural godfather for Donald Glover's "Atlanta." The series centers on a human boy named Finn and his adoptive brother Jake, a magical dog who can change size at will. The duo goes on magical adventures in very distant lands, meeting new friends, foes, and fascinating characters along the way. The nearly 300-episode series took home seven Emmys, launched a multimedia franchise, and got multiple spin-offs. It was a show that felt like it would go on forever ... until after 10 seasons, it came to a satisfying albeit bittersweet end.

A Phineas and Ferb revival is in the works as part of creator Dan Povenmire’s newly inked overall deal with Disney Branded Television.
There will be another 40 episodes of the popular animated series produced as part of the deal, which will equate to two seasons. It’s not clear where the episodes will air, since Disney Branded Television currently produces series across Disney Channel, Disney+, Disney Junior and Disney Xd.
Disney Branded Television President Ayo Davis made the announcement in conjunction with Povenmire during Friday’s Television Critics Association panel.
“There’s songs that we wrote in 2005 for this show that are trending on TikTok. That has been one of the best times in my career is the fact that this whole generation of kids and parents really took this show into their hearts, and it still means so much to them,” Povenmire said.

When the 2003 Christmas classic Love Actually entered the world, it was like a stuffed stocking, filled to the brim with some of Britain’s greatest actors.
From Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson to Alan Rickman, it attracted some of the best performers of the era.
The film also launched the careers of Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Olivia Olson, who were children when they starred in the romcom.
It’s been almost 20 years since Richard Curtis’s film was released, and they’ve all been very busy since then.
Some of the stars of the movie have gone on to work with Curtis again, while others have had huge franchise roles or become synonymous with certain characters, like Martin Freeman’s Dr John Watson in Sherlock.
Here’s a rundown on the Love Actually cast’s varied careers, from 2003 to now…

Love may actually be all around, but it was mostly a white Christmas when it came to 2003 rom-com “Love Actually.”
Writer-director Richard Curtis reflected on the beloved classic film, saying the lack of diversity makes him “feel uncomfortable and a bit stupid” two decades later.
“There are things you’d change but, thank God, society is changing, so my film is bound, in some moments, to feel out of date,” Curtis said in a interview with Diane Sawyer for ABC’s 20th-anniversary special “The Laughter & Secrets of Love Actually: 20 Years Later” (via Entertainment Weekly).
Curtis continued, “The lack of diversity makes me feel uncomfortable and a bit stupid. You know, I think there are sort of three plots that have sort of bosses and people who work for them.”
The film focused on 10 separate love stories, with Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Laura Linney, Bill Nighy, Liam Neeson, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Alan Rickman,...

Hugh Grant has said that Richard Curtis’s script for Love Actually is “a bit psychotic”.
The Notting Hill star appears in the 2003 Christmas ensemble romcom as the British prime minister who falls in love with an employee (Martine McCutcheon).
On Tuesday (29 November), Grant was interviewed as part of Diane Sawyer’s ABC special The Laughter & Secrets of Love Actually: 20 Years Later.
The 62-year-old spoke about writer Curtis’s script for the film, calling it “a bit psychotic” and adding that it is “Richard on steroids”.
“But the thing is with him, what you have to remember is when he writes about love, he means it,” Grant added. “And that is quite rare.”
Elsewhere in the episode, Grant admitted that he and wife Anna Eberstein had recently “drunkenly” watched bits of the film with fresh eyes.
“It comes from the heart – it’s true,” Grant said.

“At Christmas, you tell the truth,” one character says in Love, Actually–and the truth may be that Love Actually is actually psychotic. Or at least that’s what Hugh Grant once wondered.
In the trailer for the upcoming TV special The Laughter and Secrets of ‘Love Actually’: 20 Years Later, star Emma Thompson recalls a moment she shared with co-star Hugh Grant while filming the holiday romantic comedy. “Hugh came up behind me as we were walking out and said, ‘Is that the most psychotic thing we’ve ever been in?’”
Love Actually is plenty over-the-top, cliche and cluttered, but “psychotic” might be a little excessive. It, too, has been critiqued as of late for its sexism, fat-shaming and depiction of female characters. So while “psychotic” might not be the best choice of words for Grant, one can agree that Love Actually has maybe not aged too well.

It's been almost two decades since Thomas Brodie-Sangster appeared in Love Actually, but he still gets stopped on the street for his role in the classic rom-com. "I don't think Love Actually is going to go anywhere," the actor told Mr. Porter for a piece published Feb. 18. "I don't mind that, that's fine." In the film, Brodie-Sangster played Sam—the stepson of Liam Neeson's recently widowed character Daniel and a young lad who attempts to impress his crush Joanna (Olivia Olson) by learning how to play the drums for their school Christmas show. Brodie-Sangster was just 13 years old when the movie was released in 2003. And while he told Mr. Porter being a...

In 1969, when “Sesame Street” premiered, it invented a thing called children’s “educational” television, and few would deny that it fulfilled that mission — to teach kids and delight them at the same moment. The legacy of “Sesame Street” is vast, to the point that dozens of children’s shows that don’t call themselves educational, or even think of themselves that way, now subscribe to the same mission. In our era, some of the best kids’ TV has been fast and furious, diabolically witty and smart — the educational equivalent of a roller-coaster ride. I’m thinking of shows like “Team Umizoomi,” “The Loud House,” “Apple & Onion,” and “Phineas and Ferb,” which ended its four-season run on the Disney Channel in 2015. So it’s no surprise that “Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against the Universe” is one of the sharpest kids’ movies in a while.

Movies have been around since the late 19th century, but only now — after more than 100 years of failure — has someone finally made one that hinges on the invention of a ray gun that replaces anyone it shoots with the nearest available chicken. The device is called “The Chicken Replace-inator,” and it’s the latest weapon created by the mad scientist Dr. Doofenshmirtz (of Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated fame) in his never-ending quest to kill the fedora-wearing secret agent who always foils his plans and also happens to be a platypus — Perry the platypus.
The cackling lovechild of Abe Vigoda and the Wicked Witch of the West, Doofenshmirtz has come up with all sorts of cockamamie schemes to destroy Perry over the years — one for each of the 222 episodes of “Phineas and Ferb” that aired on the Disney Channel between 2007 and 2015 — but the Chicken Replace-inator has to be among the dumbest and most inspired.

Friday’s events include panels for all three of AMC’s “Walking Dead” series, Hulu’s new Marvel series “Helstrom,” and creatives like Charlize Theron, Joss Whedon, and Robert Kirkman.
The Comic-Con@Home schedule — including Wednesday, July 22 and Thursday, July 23 — is being announced daily through Sunday.

Lady Luck won't be on Liz or Dembe's side once Red finds out their secret.
Red showed his dark side on The Blacklist Season 6 Episode 16, and it was scary Af.
We've seen what Red is capable of throughout almost six seasons of The Blacklist, but we've never seen him like this.
As much as I don't want to believe it, it's entirely possible that Red already knows about Liz and Dembe.
He's playing them both the same way he played Smokey.
How he would have even found out is anyone's guess.
But the things Red said this hour to them both wasn't just chance.
At the very least, Red is suspicious of Dembe.
He might have a strong feeling that Dembe knows something and is hoping Dembe will come clean before he has to confront his protector and friend directly.

Regardless of what we want, no one can have it all.
It's a hard lesson Max had to learn on New Amsterdam Season 1 Episode 17 when after the storm died down his partner in crime forced his hand.
The hour picked up where New Amsterdam left off, but while Max and Helen's talk was put off until the end of the hour, everything else was more pressing, so the hour was edited beautifully.
What was the most striking about this hour was how Max unraveled. We're accustomed to Max being the person who keeps the faith and keeps his head in the game during any crisis.

Max always has a fix and solution. He knows by some innate ability bestowed on him by the universe how to figure his way out of any obstacle in his way.
Max consistently keeps it together.

Landry does what he wants and on Knightfall Season 2 Episode 3 he wanted to be a superhero.
But as sometimes happens with impossible dreams, he failed until the real superhero of the hour showed him how it's done.
We knew it wouldn't take long before Talus and Landry made a connection.
Landry's ill-fated attempt to take down the Luciferians on his own in order to spare the lives of his brother Templars provided that opportunity for connection.
Talus might have acted like a hardass to Landry, but deep down, he liked what he saw. He knew Landry had the heart and soul of a Templar, he just needed to get his head out of his ass.
Going after Luciferians and hoping to get killed wasn't the way to do it.

Red proved once again that he is a man of honor on The Blacklist Season 6 Episode 15.
He could have killed Aram for taking money from him because that's what he would have done to anyone else.
But Aram is not anyone else.
Aram is a dedicated and loyal friend, and Red knows he was reacting to the pain and anger he felt about what happened with Samar.
That's why he took Aram on a plane ride to nowhere.

The Love Actually Red Nose Day Special already aired on Thursday, May 25 on NBC, but in case you missed it, the short is now available to watch online! The script for the short was written by Richard Curtis and it wonderfully revisits the characters of the classic 2003 film Love Actually. It shows us what our favorite characters are up to in 2017. It's a pretty great reunion special that I think fans of the original film will enjoy and appreciate.
Love Actually is one of my favorite romantic comedies and I thought this was a real treat. The cast that returns includes Hugh Grant, Martine McCutcheon, Keira Knightley, Andrew Lincoln, Colin Firth, Lucia Moniz, Liam Neeson, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Olivia Olson, Bill Nighy, Marcus Brigstocke and Rowan Atkinson. Patrick Dempsey also shows up. When talking about the special, Curtis had this to say:
