Kent was born in the small Victorian town of Shepparton in 1966. His father was then a builder, and his mother owned and operated a retail outlet specializing in baby clothes, change tables, prams and so on.
The entire family was theatrical, and Kent's first appearance on stage was in the family musical "The Little Tin Soldier," in a role that was created for him when he missed out on being cast in the lead. Kent soon became distracted by the goings on in the wings and the control booths and moved into lighting. He was the lighting director for a season of one act plays at the age of 15.
These experiences set the tone for the next quarter century, as Kent worked behind the scenes just about everywhere you can. Television, Radio, Cinema Exhibition, and Film and Television Production. His role as Chief Operating Officer with his family's Design and Marketing outfit took him away from his passion for film for another decade.
Now after some detours he is back pursuing his fascination with storytelling and filmmaking. Kent met his long-time collaborator and business partner Kent Church in the late 90s, and they formed Lone Content in 2022.
