Yoshifumi Tozuka is a Japanese manga artist known for creating the manga series Undead Unluck. He was born in the Saitama Prefecture. In 2013, at the age of 24, he won the 78th Treasure Newcomer Manga Prize for Cosmic Arc Travel (Uchuu Kankou C-Arc) oneshot, the judge at the time being Haruichi Furudate. The oneshot was later published in the 2014 vol.2 Issue of Jump Next. In 2015, he drew a new oneshot titled Super Heavy Charge Vanguard (Chojuu Kakin Vanguard), which was published in Jump Next 2015 vol.6 issue.
In 2019, he drew the Undead + Unluck (Andeddo + anrakku) published in the Weekly Shonen Jump 2019-09 issue. A year later, starting on January 20, 2020, in Weekly Shonen Jump 2020-08 issue, Undead + Unluck became a series titled Undead Unluck.
He has been a fan of "Jump" since he was a child, and has been bringing in work for the editorial department since he was in high school. After receiving the award, he had a hard time coming out of his shell, but after turning 30, he won his first serialization with "Undead Unluck". This work attracted a lot of attention from readers with its no-holds-barred start.
According to an interview with Da Vinci magazine, he used his experience as a reader for many years to calculate his survival strategy in "Jump", and increased the speed and density of each story so that it would not be buried among other works. He also comments, "I drew this work with the intention of affirming everyone, even those in difficult circumstances."
