Scott Mazzapica
- Actor
Scott Walter Mazzapica is an American actor, writer, and director. Mazzapica began his career in the arts in classic fashion: by joining his school's drama club and never looking back.
He was born in Winchester, Massachusetts to parents Jim, a small business owner who operated a local vending company, and Mary, a tax clerk by day and restaurant server by night. He also has two siblings in his older brother, James, and younger sister, Faith. Scott and his family members share an ancestry similar to a lot of Bostonians in a mix of Irish and Italian heritage. Before Scott was born, his family moved out of the Greater Boston area and settled in the small town of Tewksbury, where he was still just a short drive away from his favorite city.
Massachusetts was home to a passionate sports culture in the 2000's when Scott was growing up. He was a three sport athlete for his entire childhood, playing on a number of competitive teams in football, basketball, and baseball. Scott had never considered anything in the arts until he saw a cousin perform in her high school's stage productions. Feeling inspired by this close family member, he auditioned for his first play at the age of 13 and was given the lead role in his local middle school's production of Ed Monk's Booby Trap.
Mazzapica continued performing in a variety of school plays and musicals for the remainder of his time in the Tewksbury Public School system, making headlines in the town paper for his performance as George Bailey in a stage adaptation of It's A Wonderful Life. He continued his education at the University of Hartford in Connecticut. He majored in Actor Training where he studied under many esteemed theater actors, yet shifted to an on-camera focus in his latter years. In 2022, he graduated summa cum laude with his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The Hartt School, the conservatory style performing arts college within the university.
Shortly after graduating, Scott hit the ground running and began his career as a working actor all around the New England area. He starred in Good Girl (2022) which premiered at the Massachusetts Independent Film Festival in 2023, and then booked a series lead in Channel 92 (2022-), a comedy pilot where Mazzapica plays the naive new kid in the office of a public access television station on Cape Cod. Shortly after, he moved to Los Angeles in the fall of 2022. Within a month of his arrival, he booked his first supporting role in a feature film, Twisted Date (2023.) He now works bicoastally, traveling between California, Massachusetts, and New York for acting opportunities all across the country.
When he's not acting, Scott loves to explore. He is passionate for trying new things, whether it be a new restaurant in town or traveling to a foreign country. He loves supporting his local coffee shops as well as spending time outdoors in one of the many beautiful parks his neighborhood has to offer.
