Actors Alaya F and Karan Mehta have shared their experience of shooting for Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat’ in extremely cold conditions in Gulmarg. Talking about shooting in sub-zero conditions, Alaya said: “The weather was extremely erratic. It was snowing one day, then the next day was bright and sunny, then there was heavy rainfall the following day.”
But the harsh weather did not stop the film’s crew from being creative.
Alaya recalled: “It was a wonderful learning experience seeing Anurag sir adapt to every weather condition and not let it hinder the making of the film.”
She added: “It was a one-of-a-kind experience because one day we were freezing, and the next day we were drenched. There were also times when we could barely see where we were going due to dense fog. It was always a distinct experience and an amazing adventure which made for the most incredible memories.

He said: “I don’t know if Anurag remembers, but I have written the lyrics of a song for one of his films ‘That Girl in Yellow Boots’. Only four lines of the song were played in the background of the film, and only those who know about the song could notice it.”
“After that film, I asked Anurag if he was planning on his next film as my wish to write for his movie was still unfulfilled. So, he mentioned that his upcoming film won’t have any songs and falls more into a mafia and action genre.”

Musician Amit Trivedi says he took almost four years to work on Anurag Kashyap’s directorial ‘Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat’ music album.
Amit Trivedi and lyricist Shellee worked on the music album for four long years, finally produced tracks for every mood and presents a quirky take on modern romances and young love.
The team did not want to compromise on any aspect of the music-making process and utilised the lockdown to experiment with different ideas and versions until they finally cracked a fresh, new sound. In fact lyricist Shellee, had to let go of the poet in him and he invested time with his son and Kashyap’s daughter to understand the lingo used by today’s generation.
