Ali Rusu-Tahir

Alia "Ali" Rusu-Tahir is a classically trained Moroccan and Romanian actress, born in France and raised throughout Canada. Her mother is an architect and a writer, and her father, a computer science researcher.
She is best known for playing Sasha in the psycho-thriller film, Kryptic, which premiered at SXSW 2024. She has also performed in a number of festival short films, most notably Passiflora, a queer love story screened at the Crazy8s Gala.
She studied acting at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, where she received her BFA in 2021. She continues her studies in a few of Vancouver's teaching studios.
Her theatre credits include Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again, Problem Child, and Seven Minutes in Heaven, among many others. Ali is also a musician and a writer.
