Toru Tokikawa

Born in Japan and raised in the US and Indonesia, Toru Tokikawa is an award-winning filmmaker based in Los Angeles. Passionate about dynamic stories of people breaking boundaries and overcoming difference, Toru has been working on projects with major distributors. Before immigrating to LA, Toru was based in London and Paris, directing music videos, commercials and producing film and TV. A graduate of the University of Tokyo, Toru began his career at the Japanese advertising agency Dentsu. He then became a director/photographer in the music and fashion industry in Europe before moving into filmmaking. Toru speaks English, French, Japanese and a bit of Bahasa Indonesia.His new documentary feature "Shohei Ohtani - Beyond the Dream" debuts on ESPN+/Disney+ globally on November 17th, 2023.

Tokikawa is the founder of Rivertime Entertainment Inc. The production company is based in Los Angeles with production hubs in London, Tokyo and Vancouver producing and developing feature films, TV, music videos and digital contents. With its multicultural team of star talents, the company creates global entertainment packed with fresh and groovy ideas and strong international appeals.
