- Robert is an actor and filmmaker known for his standout performance in the feature film On Halloween (2020), as well as his role as Headmaster Marrow in the Australian national tour of Choir Boy (2020), written by Oscar-winning playwright Tarell Alvin McCraney.
A Boston native, Robert's acting journey began unexpectedly in 1994 when he landed a role in The Next Karate Kid (1994) while working as a martial arts instructor. This experience sparked his passion for acting, leading him to relocate to California and study at institutions such as The Palange Studio, where he studied the Stanislavsky system under John Sarno, and the Joanne Baron/D.W. Brown Studios in Los Angeles, where he completed an intensive 2 1/2-year Meisner program. His Meisner training helped refine his craft, leading to key roles in TV and film, including The Shield (2002), General Hospital (1963), Reef Break (2019), and Reckoning (2019).
In addition to his acting career, Robert is a seasoned martial artist, having trained in Kung Fu and Tai Chi. He also co-wrote and starred in the short film The Pact (2005) and has worked on projects such as the sci-fi action film Shadow Wars (currently in post-production).
In 2008, Robert became a citizen of Australia and relocated to Sydney. Since then, he has worked extensively across film, TV, theatre, and commercials. He is currently developing his first screenplay, The Art of Seduction, a comedy based on a true story about how he was conned into becoming an exotic dancer, as well as a short film, The Trial of Razon, inspired by a character from Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus while completing his graduate degree in Creative Industries.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Robert Harrell
