Oliya "Scootercaster" is a freelance video journalist, reporter and producer based in New York City. Born in Ukraine, Oliya has lived in Oxford, Los Angeles, and New York.
While in Ukraine she started her career in journalism at a young age of 14, being a host for a music program and later a host of a morning show. After moving to Oxford to study Film Production and Psychology at Oxford Brookes University, she worked as a photographer and started her career as a DJ. Moving to LA she started her music tour with Tommy Lee as an opening DJ, from there traveling around the world on tour and appearing in multiple magazines and shows.
Now living in NYC she started FNTV , a small business news-wire service, as a passion project to gather a team of professionals with the same goal and grow together. Oliya produced stories, latest surrounded by Pandemic, deaths, uprising, migration crisis, armed militias, George Floyd, Capitol riots world crisis zones and Ukraine war.
In February 2022, Oliya, being originally from Kyiv, traveled back to Ukraine, where she stayed for three months , to document the war, before and through the invasion.
Her work has been published in media outlets in New York, USA and internationally.
