- Edward had only three major roles in his movie career. As Bo Talley in a 1945 movie he was a gang member in The Navajo Kid, a movie starring Bob Steele. In another 1945 movie, one starring Tex Ritter, Three in the Saddle, he played the role of John Rankin. He and Bob Steele appeared together in Edward's third major role (Dunc Rankin) in his next to final film appearance in 1946.
- 1945 was Edward Howard's most active film making year. He is credited with having acted in fifteen films, twelve of them B-westerns, including Rockin' in the Rockies with The Three Stooges. In six of the films he was identified as a henchman and in another as a gang member.
- Edward Howard's middle name was Mills, his mother's maiden name.
