All eyes are on James Gunn’s Superman, which will set the tone for his DC film universe for years to come. The director and CEO of DC knew he had to dedicate time to post-production in order to make it look right, “If you do some research you’ll see my films have always taken a different approach and I’ve always given my VFX artist-collaborators time to do their jobs properly, and the respect they deserve.” He explains, “This is why we wrapped on Superman a year before release and why they’ve been hard at work on many shots for months before that.“

Superman fans have been anxiously awaiting a first look at some footage from James Gunn's upcoming Dcu reboot, and the first teaser for the movie might be released online a little sooner than we were expecting.

Gunn has already confirmed that he will not be present at Ccxp in São Paulo, which runs from the 5th to the 8th of December, but we had heard that the trailer will debut on Wednesday, December 25th during one of the scheduled NBA games.

Now, Collider is reporting that the trailer is tentatively expected to arrive online around mid-December, and could screen in theaters with Disney's Mufasa: The Lion King on December 20.

Several online scoopers seem to have backed this up with the usual nods and winks, and since this would be around the same time the fourth episode of Creature Commandos drops, there's speculation that Gunn might be planning some kind...

Sources tell us Chau is playing Nelly Dean, the film’s chief narrator, with Oliver as Isabella Linton. Shazad plays Edgar Linton, a wealthy, aristocratic man who marries Catherine Earnshaw (Margot Robbie). The actors come to the project after Warner Bros snapping it up in a fierce bidding war, with a commitment to a theatrical run with a big P&a spend. We're still not exactly sure when the first trailer for James Gunn's Superman will be released (you can find out what we've been told here) or what we can expect from the footage, but actor Frank Grillo has now shared his reaction to being given a "sneak peek" at the highly-anticipated teaser.

Grillo, who will make his live-action debut as Rick Flag Sr. after voicing the character in next month's Creature Commandos, revealed to Collider that he got to see a "little bit" of the trailer.

“I got a sneak peek at a little bit of the trailer, and I’m not joking, and I’m not blowing this out of proportion, my skin was hot and I had goosebumps. That’s how great it is."

Grillo was also full of praise for our new Man of Steel, David Corenswet.

Max has announced that Juror #2, Clint Eastwood’s latest (and likely final) movie, will arrive on the streaming service on December 20th.

The announcement comes after a bit of controversy surrounding the film’s release — Warner Bros., Juror #2’s distributor, chose an extremely limited release, screening the movie in fewer than 50 domestic theaters before it inevitably headed to Max. Furthermore, the studio opted for little-to-no advertising, declined to report domestic ticket sales, and even initially removed it from the awards page of their website.

The minimized strategy is said to be an effort by the studio to protect Eastwood from a major box office or critical disappointment. Yet, despite having strong audience impressions and favorable reviews, Warner Bros. still seems totally indifferent to giving Eastwood’s film a larger release.

Even director Guillermo del Toro wondered why Eastwood’s work was getting stifled by the studio, raving about the film on Bluesky.

Clint Eastwood is a legend among legends. The actor and director is potentially getting ready to retire, and since he's firmly in his 90s, it's fair to say he's earned it. But Eastwood had at least one more for the road in the form of the acclaimed courtroom drama "Juror #2." If you’re tired of Hallmark movies, a legal thriller from a living legend is the perfect holiday counter-programming. “Juror #2,” which people keep describing as possibly Clint Eastwood‘s final film even though I wish they wouldn’t, is coming to Max on Dec. 20, the streaming service announced Tuesday.

The release date comes amidst a controversial limited theatrical run for the film. Warner Bros. Discovery only released “Juror #2” in about 35 theaters, mostly for awards-qualifying purposes, which some feel is disrespectful to a filmmaker of Eastwood’s stature for what could be his final film, which I hope we’re not willing into being by saying it over and over again. “Has everyone at that studio forgotten what they owe Eastwood’s legacy?” IndieWire’s Tom Brueggeman wrote in a column arguing that Warner Bros. If you are, or in any way think you might have a shot at an Oscar nomination this year, and were in Los Angeles, it is most likely I might have run into you last night at Ovation’s Ray Dolby Ballroom where this jam packed ceremony saluting this year’s honorary Oscar recipients took place. In fact, just the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences’ PR team’s tip sheet was two pages of 207 single spaced names who were expected to attend (and by my count did) show up, not just to honor the deserving winners of the evening, but also perhaps to be in this place which is packed with Oscar voters who might be reminded to see your movie, if they haven’t done so already.

Who knew pop star Ariana Grande was an adept musical comedienne? That surprise discovery should land her an Oscar nomination for Jon M. Chu’s adaptation of the global hit musical “Wicked”, which will prove a box-office juggernaut. On that much “Screen Talk” co-hosts Ryan Lattanzio and Anne Thompson agree; but he hates the cheesy visuals and loves Jonathan Bailey’s charismatic supporting turn as the romantic interest of both witches-in-training, while Anne admires the music, well-produced by Marc Platt and delivered with gusto by Cynthia Erivo and Grande.

“Wicked” follows Steven Spielberg’s recent “West Side Story,” which earned seven nominations in 2022 and a win for another supporting discovery, Ariana DeBose. And Rob Marshall’s film version of Bob Fosse’s “Chicago” (2002) was also one of 10 musical Best Picture winners. But we agree they were executed with more visual and technical mastery.

Guillermo del Toro is being the judge on the theatrical rollout for Clint Eastwood’s “Juror #2.”

The Academy Award-winning director took to social media to question why Warner Bros. only gave an extremely limited theatrical release to Eastwood’s critically acclaimed legal thriller. The film opened November 1 in merely 31 U.S. and Canadian theaters, as well as in six European countries; it expanded to a handful of additional U.S. cities for its second week in theaters.

Del Toro is now urging audiences to go to the theaters to support “Juror #2,” while also asking Warner Bros. to hopefully leave the feature in theaters for longer.

“Went to the theatre to see ‘Juror #2,’ Clint Eastwood’s latest film. We enjoyed it tremendously. It’s — in some ways — his ‘Crimes and Misdemeanors,'” Del Toro wrote, via World of Reel. “The film is precisely and assuredly filmed and it’s Nicolas Hoult’s to lead.

A two-time Oscar-nominated actor known for his serious chops, Jude Law, has been spreading his wings a little bit and trying out the world of franchises in recent years. His first foray into that blockbuster domain was “Sherlock Holmes” with Robert Downey Jr. In recent years, he did a stint in Marvel’s “Captain Marvel” alongside Brie Larson, and next month in December, he joins the “Star Wars” universe in Lucasfilm’s upcoming series, “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.”

Superhero films bring a lot of success and fame to those who star in them. Be it the Dcu or Marvel, those who head projects can easily earn in the millions. While this is surely an added benefit, in all of their success, it seems that Hollywood has forgotten what these films actually mean to the fans. Many actors have talked about roles they took within these franchises, chalking their motivations to be purely financial.

Due to this, many fans have been wary about the actors that are getting cast in upcoming projects. Most recently, comedian John Mulaney talked about his interest in playing Plastic Man. The description given by the actor may cause fans to get upset, and James Gunn may be one of them.

We may never know the full list of actors who auditioned for the lead role in DC Studios' Superman. However, British actor Tom Brittney has now confirmed he was among those who got to suit up for James Gunn.

Reports swirled at the time that he was a finalist for the role, with David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult rounding out the final three. The latter was eventually cast as Lex Luthor, with Corenswet ultimately given the opportunity to play the Man of Tomorrow.

Whether Gunn will find Brittney, best known for roles in Grantchester and Invasion, another character in the Dcu currently remains to be seen.

Talking on the Hellish podcast, Brittney revealed, "It was actually Henry Cavill's Superman suit - it was his actual suit. It takes about half an hour to get into it - to get sewn into it. And yeah, I think I might have accidentally ripped it.

James Gunn has yet to finalize the new Dcu’s Batman actor. He has already got numerous suggestions from fans as to who will be a better-suited actor for the role. However, rarely do these fan castings get a celebrity endorsement. Blake Lively has now supported the Batman chatter surrounding Brandon Sklenar, her co-star in It Ends With Us.

Fans saw the two share amazing chemistry in the film and even got to witness the actor getting intimidated by Lively’s husband Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. However, fans are not too thrilled about Lively’s suggestion, which probably has more to do with her current reputation than Sklenar’s skills.

In the summer of 2023, we had “Barbenheimer,” and the holiday season of 2024 will have “Glicked” as Gladiator II star Paul Mescal has dubbed the release date of November 22, on which the Jon M. Chu musical adaptation and the Ridley Scott sequel will debut in theaters together.

Several films will arrive before and in the wake of the latest box office showdown including Disney’s Moana 2, which almost went up against Wicked before the first part of the film duology shifted earlier to the same Friday as Gladiator II.
