Kari Hietalahti likes Fly Fishing and he is an Ambassador of the Vision Fly Fishing. He has written two books about Fishing (2011) and Fly Fishing (2020). Kari Hietalahti is a conservationist. He protects specially migratory fishes and Saimaa ringed seals. Kari Hietalahti is the head coach of HJK Helsinki official futsal team.
