James D R Hickox is known for his writing and directing, after working his way up through the ranks as a P.A, assistant editor and editor, and then directing his first feature at the age of 27, the successful Children of the Corn: Urban Harvest. James stayed in genre for some years, becoming successful horror/ creature film as well as family and some comedy. He has had the pleasure of working with some wonderful actors, such as Josh Holloway, Sean William Scott, Malcolm McDowell, Charlize Theron, Tippi Hedren, Steve Guttenberg and Billy Zane to name but a few. Lately, James has taken a career turn and decided to try his hand at more serious subject matter and written and directed two shorts 'The Importance of Being Andy' which won an award for Best Actor and continues in the festival circuit and in 2018 'The Inheritance', which is the first acting role for singer/celebrity Peter André. Both are dramatic pieces and has taken his career in a new direction. He is attached to various films which are in the casting stage and continues writing and creating shows for television.
