- Other worksUnproduced screenplay "Nadsamec" ("Supermale") co-authored with Milos Macourek, based on novel by Alfred Jarry. A provocative dark sci-fi comedy that counted on the surprising casting of Macourek's and Herz's mutual friend, screenwriter Pavel Jurácek, in the title role. After the Communist Party found Jurácek to be 'persona non grata', the project was dropped. A few years later, the writers tried to pitch the script again, and at one point Macourek was supposed to be the director as he seemed to be less controversial than Herz, but even that time the script was not produced.

- Quotes[on Morgiana (1972)] the head dramaturg Ludvík Toman said that it was a sadomasochist film and it had to be banned. Then he also told me that he thought I would make a romantic film, so I tried to explain to him that it is romantic, but he couldn't understand that because he thought that I made it too scary. He couldn't catch that in romanticism the writers also used lots of scary, eerie moments. I was forbidden to make films for the next two years.
