Peter White, who starred in ABC’s “All My Children” from 1974-1980 as Lincoln Tyler, has died at the age of 86. White’s death was confirmed by his costar Kathleen Noone to multiple news outlets.
In addition to the soap opera White also starred in the stage and film adaptations of “The Boys in the Band” as well as the drama series “Sisters.” He also made appearances on “Ally McBeal,” “The X-Files,” “The West Wing,” “Jag,” and more.
White was the third actor to take on the role of Tyler. After leaving the role in 1980, he returned for short stints in 1981, 1984, 1986, 1995, and 2005.
He joined the off-Broadway cast of “The Boys in the Band” in 1968 as Alan McCarthy. The play is about a group of gay men who are attending a birthday party in Manhattan; at the end of the play, it is unclear if White’s character is gay.

John Huston plays every narrative card in the deck for the difficult task of expressing the great doctor’s insights into psychoanalysis. His actors personalize the concepts of neurosis, etc., investing us in Sigmund’s search for answers in long-ago Vienna. The fascination has multiple levels: in investigating the nature of ‘hysteria’ Dr. Sigmund Freud finds that he shares to a degree the same mental aberrations, as does his mentor. Actor Montgomery Clift was fighting numerous personal demons at the time, and Huston’s directing methods were described by some as cruel. Superb production values and Jerry Goldsmith’s music score enhance the experience. The scan on view is Huston’s director’s cut, not Universal’s shorter original release version.

If you’ve hunted around for movie bargains, you’ve probably seen some of Mill Creek Entertainment’s 50-Movie Packs on DVD. Apart from other great releases by Mill Creek, these packs are phenomenal boons to cinephiles looking to collect older titles.
There are three new packs available, and I want to not only let you in on a discount code, but I have one of the packs available for you to win.
I know a lot of people may be quick to overlook these packs, and not every movie included stands out as a major value, but there are some great titles in each of them, and fans of the genres will be pleasantly surprised by what they get out of the deal. I have to admit that there is something about seeing a 50-movie pack, especially when it doesn’t cost a couple of hundred dollars, or more,...

As a longtime friend of Elizabeth Taylor's, Carol Burnett recalled her great sense of humor. Burnett, appearing on 'The Tonight Show' (weeknights, 11:35Pm Et on NBC), recounted a particular prank that Taylor played during live filming.
In 1983, Burnett appeared on 'All My Children.' During a scene with Eileen Herlie, "all of a sudden out of the blue, which was not in the script, there is somebody in the charwoman scrub-woman outfit" -- one of her characters from 'The Carol Burnett Show.' It was Taylor.

All My Children's Herlie Dies
Actress Eileen Herlie has died from complications resulting from a bout of pneumonia.
The star, real name Eileen Herlihy, passed away on Wednesday, aged 90.
Born in Scotland, Herlie began her career in the late 1940s and landed her first big role in the 1948 film adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet, opposite Laurence Olivier, and went on to secure parts in movies like 1958's She Didn't Say No! and 1962's Freud.
Herlie was also noted for her success on the Broadway and West End stages, where she starred opposite Richard Burton in a New York production of Hamlet in 1964. Her turn in Broadway musical Take Me Along also earned her a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Musical in 1960.
But it was her role as Myrtle Lum Fargate in long-running U.S. TV drama All My Children that earned her the most recognition.
She joined the daytime soap in 1976 and was nominated four times for the Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role in a Daytime Drama Series between 1983 and 1986.
In recent years, she made guest appearances on sister soaps like One Life To Live, and continued to play Fargate up until her final days.
