Born and grew up in the Prenzlauer Berg district of Berlin, when this was still part of the communist area of the GDR, the East German side of the separated Germany.
Was discovered by a talent scout during practicing with her theater dance group in Berlin (1995).
Studied at the Drama School "Ernst Busch" in Berlin.
