That's the question Discovery's new Rival Survival show poses, and The Hollywood Reporter has a first look at the upcoming special. Set to air Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 10 p.m., Rival Survival follows U.S. senators Jeff Flake (R, Ariz.) and Martin Heinrich (D, N.M.) as they're forced to put their differences aside for six days and six nights to survive on an uninhabited island surrounded by shark-infested waters and disconnected from the world. Discovery is taking the survival genre to the next level. The cable network has picked up an unscripted show that will maroon a Democrat and Republican senator on a remote island for a week called Rival Survival.
