The much-awaited sequel to Vetrimaaran’s Viduthalai Part 1, which starred Soori and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles, is currently in the making. The film, titled Viduthalai Part 2, is expected to release in mid 20241. The film is based on the short story Thunaivan by B. Jeyamohan, and follows the lives of a police officer and a separatist leader in the 1960s.

One of the most interesting aspects of the film is that Vijay Sethupathi and Manju Warrier, who play pivotal roles in the film, have undergone a de-aging process for their characters. According to sources, the portions featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Manju Warrier are set in the 1960s, and hence the de-aging process was necessary to make them look younger.

Disney+ Hotstar recently released an action-packed trailer for ‘Mathagam’, its much-awaited original series. The gripping and intense trailer promises an action-packed entertainer with Atharva and Manikandan’s high adrenaline face-off lighting up the screens on fire. Written and directed by Prasath Murugesan, ‘Mathagam’, features Atharvaa, Manikandan, Nikhila Vimal, and Dd (Dhivyadarshini) in the lead.

The makers of Viduthalai have announced that the shooting for Part 2 has resumed in Sirumalai today, after being halted due to the pandemic. The film is expected to release in early 2024, according to producer Elred Kumar of Rs Infotainment. The sequel will continue the story of Kumaresan and Vaathiyar, and explore their complex relationship and ideologies.
