Phil Spector is a pioneer of American music, a legendary producer to John Lennon and Tina Turner, and, as of April 13th 2009, a convicted murderer. Yet the Spector who appears in Vikram Jayanti's documentary is not the severe, outlandishly coiffed defendant seen in sensationalistic accounts of his trial, but a charming, savvy music executive with a generous, but arguably accurate, estimation of his place in the history of popular music.

Bobby Hatfield was born on 10 August 1940 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, USA. He was an actor, known for Feeling Minnesota (1996), Cheers (1982) and Twenty-One (1991). He was married to Linda Jean Torrison and Alberta Joy Colsant (Joy Ciro). He died on 5 November 2003 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA.

On 6 January 2004, the Kalamazoo County (Michigan, USA) medical examiner announced that post-mortem toxicology results indicated that Hatfield's heart attack was caused by acute cocaine intoxication, not by advanced coronary disease, as an initial autopsy had found. Hatfield's death certificate will be amended accordingly, the medical examiner said.
