- Oxford-educated, RADA-trained Shakespearean actor of dignified presence. He made his professional stage debut in 1923 in "The Will" at the Westminster Theatre. On Broadway, two years later, he appeared in "Easy Virtue". Harris acted with the Old Vic Company from 1931, later also at Stratford and at the West End. He toured the U.S. between 1963 and 1964, as Sir Thomas More in "A Man for All Seasons".
