The daughter of Danish immigrants, she was a leading lady with Pathé Freres of Union City, New Jersey (1910-14). She the set up her own production company with her husband, the Excelsior Feature Film Company in Lake Placid, New York. The venture was a financial failure, however, and the business closed in 1915. Octavia subsequently joined Lubin, where she played leads for another year.
