- Ted Hamilton was born Edward Leslie Hamilton in 1937 in Australia. He has made his mark mostly as a singer and song writer, and as a promoter of the performing arts in Australia. Hamilton began singing in his late teens, performing in nightclubs and on Australian national radio. He starred with several of the top Australian bands and jazz musicians of the 1950s through 1970s. He also performed on stage in Australia, and his interest in the live arts in his native country led him into politics for a time.
Hamilton moved between Australia and the United States in the 1960s and 1980s. In the U.S., he had guest roles in several TV series and a few TV movies. He made only one film for the silver screen, "The Pirate Movie" of 1982. It was made by an Australian company formed for that one film, Joseph Hamilton International Productions. The film was distributed by 20th Century Fox in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
Besides his continued performing in late life, Hamilton has worked as a film consultant. In the U.S., he worked in capital financing for films and corporations. And, back home in the 21st century, he has acted in Australian TV series.- IMDb Mini Biography By: SimonJack
