Sledge Hammer(1973-2012)

A solid-built, physically-imposing US-born black performer, Sledge Hammer was a veteran of the adult film industry with a 19-year career. He was born on February 9, 1973 as Marland Anderson. He began his work in the sex industry in 1995 at 22 years old. Possessing powerfully-built features and a cocky smile anytime he appeared on set, Anderson appeared in over 800 films. First starting out with buff physical traits and braided hair, Anderson gradually underwent changes over the years, later switching between shaven and flat top hair styles. Like many of the black studs from the mid 1990s and onward, Sledge often appears in interracial films. He appeared on countless websites including the highly-popular interracial porn site, Blacks on Blondes. He often appeared more in gang bang sex scenes and proved to be a reliable casting choice when assembling a roster of willing-and-able black performers to co-star with unsuspecting young ladies. Anderson was the owner of an extensive career tragically ending in April of 2012. Anderson died from cardiac arrest brought on by excessive tasering by police officers responding to a report of a suicide attempt by Anderson who was living in Reseda area on April 8. They responded to a disturbance in the Reseda area of California, where Anderson lived at. In their attempts to subdue the reportedly "intimidating" Anderson, police officers tasered him excessively. Anderson was taken to the hospital and was under a coma after EMT's successfully revived him. Complications involving massive swelling in his brain and the reported unlikelihood of Anderson regaining consciousness led to his mother requesting her son to be taken off life support on April 13, after five days in the hospital.
