BET+ has set the return of Carl Weber’s The Family Business, starring Ernie Hudson. The series premieres on Thursday, July 4 on BET+ with two episodes, followed by a new episode every Thursday throughout the ten-episode season.
The finale arrives on August 29.
The series follows the Duncans, whose family ties that bind them have reached the breaking point as they face secrets from the past that threaten everything they’ve built. But this time, their enemies are coming from the inside of the family, and they have no one to blame but themselves. Season 5 returns to a civil war between Lc Duncan (Hudson) and clan and their biggest enemy to date—one of his own sons.

BET+ has set a premiere date and released a new trailer for the upcoming second season of Carl Weber’s “The Family Business.
Set to debut on Thursday, July 2, the series will make the jump from the BET linear network to the subscription streaming service BET+ for Season 2. Half of the 12-episode season will be available to stream on July 2, with the rest of the episodes to follow.

Carl Weber’s “The Family Business” has been picked up for a second season by Bet+, the Viacom streaming service announced Thursday.
The series, based on the bestselling series of crime drama novels, aired its first season on the Bet linear network last fall. The series centers on the Duncans, an upstanding tight-knit family that owns and operates an exotic car dealership by day and conducts more illicit business activities by night.
The 12-episode second season recently began production in Los Angeles and is slated to launch on Bet+ in 2020.

Bet+ has ordered a second season of Carl Weber’s The Family Business, based on his bestselling crime drama book series. The 12-episode season 2, up from season 1’s eight-episode order, recently started production under the helm of The Family Business Productions in Los Angeles. It’s slated to launch on the streaming service in 2020.

Exclusive: Bet Networks has licensed Carl Weber’s The Family Business, based on best-selling author’s crime drama book series. The project will air as an eight-episode drama series starring and executive produced by Ernie Hudson. It is set to premiere on Nov. 13 on Bet.
The Family Business was originally developed and produced as an indie feature franchise based on the books. The first film started filming in July 2017, with Tri Destined Studios and Urban Books Media producing for a fall 2018 release. The companies subsequently put together a sequel with the same cast, which is still in production. Instead of pursuing a theatrical release, the producers took the two movies to Bet. They will now be recut into an eight-episode series, which will be a co-production of Bet, Tri Destined Studios and Urban Books Media. I hear there is talk about potential future installments.
