- Walter Gross was born on February 5, 1904 in Eberswalde, Germany. He was an actor, known for Mikosch, der Stolz der Kompanie (1958), Unser Pauker (1965) and Drei Damen vom Grill (1977). He was married to Ingeborg Strakosch and Lou Seitz. He died on May 17, 1989 in West Berlin, West Germany.

- Prolific German character actor, formerly a professional shipping agent. Began on stage as a comic in cabaret during the 1920's, mainly active in Berlin. In films from 1933, usually as affable little men or streetwise local characters.
- After a stroke in 1988 Gross died on 17 May 1989 at the age of 85 from heart failure.
- He made his stage debut in 1926 and in the following years he worked at Berliner cabarets and theaters. Already in those years he often played funny roles.
- He took acting lessons at the acting school of the Deutsches Theater in Berlin in 1923.
- Besides the movies he also became famous as "Schussel" in many short movies to the topic road safety education and as a member of the radio cabaret "Die Insulaner".
