There is something rather charming about Dreambuilders, the new feature from Hydralab animation studio and director Kim Hagen Jensen. It is a shamelessly derivative patchwork of locations, character arcs and story beats borrowed from elsewhere but there is a sweetness about the film which inclines us to cut it some slack.
Minna and her father have built a happy life together, both a little bruised by the absence of Minna’s musician mum who left many years before to follow her dreams. The two have fallen into familiar patterns which punctuate their days; they dance together in the kitchen to the sounds of a Mariachi band and play endless games of chess.
In her dreams, however, a more unsettled Minna is revealed. Change is coming to her cosy household and the big-hearted little girl fears the havoc it will wreak. Behind the scenes her dream-builder, Gaff (Luke Griffin), is concerned...

Star Wars: Episode IX is currently wrapping up its shoot in England, with the film having recently captured scenes in their spiritual home of Pinewood Studios, in the Cardington Air Shed (which might suggest a return to Yavin 4) and now, in a mysterious snowy location.
We’ve seen pictures of this before, but the latest one comes from Instagram user Luke Griffin, who explains that the photo shows the set being dressed with snow. Now, mention a snowy location to any self-respecting Star Wars fan and there’s one name that’ll immediately spring to mind: Hoth. The ice planet left an indelible impression in the minds of fans the moment we saw it in The Empire Strikes Back, and it’s gone on to be recreated many, many times in video game form.
But let’s face it, while there’s a light dusting of snow, this picture doesn’t look particularly Hoth-y.

While Lucasfilm continues to hold back on the official Star Wars: Episode IX material, some new photos reportedly taken from the Black Park region adjacent to Pinewood reveal what’s alleged to be the setting for a snow-based conflict in the upcoming trilogy-closer.
The various pics come courtesy of fan Luke Griffin, who witnessed what he describes as “Fake snow & part burned trees on the set of the new Star Wars film,” before suggesting that the site is “The aftermath of ground warfare between the 1st order and the resistance.” Though these claims have yet to be confirmed, the photos suggest a landscape reminiscent of the Starkiller Base from The Force Awakens, while also revealing a a few buildings under construction.
If this is all legit, then we now have one more planet to add to the list of locations that Abrams’ film is visiting. So far, we’ve already seen the likes of Finn,...
