Took the best part of thirty years to build his dream home on what was
reckoned to be the last undeveloped bomb site left over from the Blitz
in Bayswater, London. To prepare himself for the task he studied
architecture and design at the Open University, then at City
University, London.
The house, finally completed in 2006, was designed by Australian
architect Russell Jones and comprises three, two floor flats. Initially
there were problems with English Heritage over the design, but these
were overcome and the building is now highly regarded in this part of
London.
