- Attended Adelaide University, Australia with long-time friend and fellow comic, Shaun Micallef.
- President of the South Australian Debating Association (SADA) in 1992, later becoming a member of SADA's Executive. A professional debater, he represented Adelaide University at the World Championships. He has also appeared on Australia's ABC Network's popular World Series Debates, arguing out such motions as That God Doesn't Have A Sense of Humour.
- Was presented with the Best Speaker Award at the World Debating Championships in 1988. Has won many additional debating awards.
- Francis Greenslade is the son of the entomologists Penelope Jean Macleod Greenslade and Philip John Marsh Greenslade. At age three he discovered a collembola, which belong to a class or subclass of the subphylum hexapoda, which are no longer considered to be, strictly speaking, "insects".
