"Jesus was born for the Herdmans as much as he was for us." A charming holiday comedy arriving in just a few months. Lionsgate has revealed the full official trailer for the movie The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, set to open in theaters in in November later this fall. It's adapted from the beloved book of the same name by Barbara Robinson – about a set of six rowdy kids who nearly ruin Christmas, teaching everybody some lessons about love thy neighbor. Nobody's ready for the mayhem and surprises that ensue when six of the worst youngsters disrupt the town's yearly Christmas performance. The final pageant is full of surprises for everyone, starting with the Herdmans Family themselves, as they ultimately lead the town in finding the true meaning of Christmas. They will make this year’s pageant the most unusual anyone has seen and, just possibly, the best ever. This...

Jenna Fischer dreamed of becoming a big actor in her very young days and decided to pursue it once out of college. She left St. Louis, Missouri, where she was raised, and headed for Los Angeles with her cat, Andy, in her Mazda 323 hatchback. In the dystopian future, a group of youths partake in a wildly popular, and very deadly, competition that's become a major source of entertainment. Sounds like "The Hunger Games," right? Well, that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about "The Long Walk," Stephen King's nasty 1979 novel published under the pseudonym Richard Bachman. Now, I'm not saying "The Hunger Games" is a rip-off of "The Long Walk," but there are definitely major similarities — which is probably why Francis Lawrence, the helmer of several "Hunger Games" movies, has been hired to bring "The Long Walk" to the screen.
Lawrence is by no means the first filmmaker attached to this project. At one point, the legendary George A. Romero wanted to turn "The Long Walk" into a movie. Later, Frank Darabont, who directed the Stephen King movies "The Shawshank Redemption," "The Green Mile," and "The Mist," was attached to helm. Eventually, like Romero,...

M. Night Shyamalan knows that his 2004 movie "The Village" is experiencing a critical reevaluation.
Despite being a hit, the movie was not particularly well-liked upon its initial release. Roger Ebert called it "a colossal miscalculation," basically summing up the critical and audience reaction to it at the time; many viewers who didn't immediately guess the movie's twist ending felt it wasn't strong enough to support the rest of the film around it. But in the years since, the tide has slowly begun to turn and folks are coming around to what some of us at /Film have long shouted from the rooftops: "The Village" rules, actually.
"A lot of people keep coming up to me on the street," Shyamalan told us in a recent interview, speaking about his awareness of the film's slow reappraisal. He's so aware, in fact, that he's actively working on getting the movie a proper Blu-ray...

More cast members have been added to Lionsgate's upcoming adaptation of the 1979 Stephen King novel (published under his pen name Richard Bachmann) The Long Walk.
According to Deadline, Judy Greer and Mark Hamill are the latest additions to the cast. The Long Walk marks one of two King projects Hamill is working on as he will also star in The Life of Chuck, adapted from one of the author's novellas published in his If It Bleeds collection. Greer has also previously worked on a King adaptation, playing the supportive teacher Rita Desjardin in the 2013 remake of Carrie that starred Chloë Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore.
Interestingly, Deadline says that The Long Walk features a competition where "50 boys" must maintain a speed of 3 miles per hour or more, lest they face the consequences. However, in the original novel, the competition involves 100 boys and the speed they have to maintain is 4 mph.

Producer Roy Lee revealed on Thursday that Netflix is still in development on a Bioshock movie and the project should move forward with The Hunger Games franchise’s Francis Lawrence directing, even if the pic winds up being a bit smaller in scope than originally envisioned.
Speaking at Collider’s Producers on Producers panel, also featuring Akiva Goldsman and Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Lee noted that the project entered development at Netflix at a time when the streamer was under a different film regime. This was the era of film chief Scott Stuber, who announced his departure from Netflix in January, with Dan Lin eventually coming in to take over his role, shifting the streamer away from producing an abundance of huge tentpole projects, in favor of more modestly budgeted efforts.

The cast continues to get bigger and more impressive now that production is underway on Lionsgate’s The Long Walk, an adaptation of Stephen King’s 1979 novel. Deadline reports that Judy Greer (Halloween 2018, Cursed) and Mark Hamill (The Life of Chuck, “The Fall of the House of Usher”) are the latest additions.
Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) directs from a script by Jt Mollner (Strange Darling).
Stephen King penned The Long Walk under the pseudonym Richard Bachman. First published in 1979, the novel is set in future dystopian America ruled by an authoritarian.
In The Long Walk, “The country holds an annual walking contest in which 100 teens must journey, non-stop and under strict rules, until only one of them is still standing alive and receiving a prize. The story told of a 16-year old walker named Raymond Garraty and the teens, some good, some bad,...

Yesterday, we learned that production has begun on an adaptation of the Stephen King novel The Long Walk (which was, like The Running Man and Thinner, published under the pen name Richard Bachman), with director Francis Lawrence, whose previous credits include Constantine, I Am Legend, Water for Elephants, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Parts 1 and 2, Red Sparrow, Slumberland, and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, at the helm. Now Deadline has broken the news that the cast of the film includes Star Wars legend Mark Hamill, who just recently finished working on another King adaptation called The Life of Chuck, and Judy Greer of the Halloween and Ant-Man franchises. Details on the characters they’ll be playing have not been revealed. Having read the source material, The Major and the mom of the lead character are the first possibilities that come to my mind.

A quarter of a century later, the high camp fashion of 1999’s Jawbreaker still has a chokehold on fans of the cult classic.
While reuniting for the Darren Stein-helmed teen movie’s 25th anniversary, Jawbreaker stars Judy Greer and Julie Benz looked back on their wardrobe from the set of the film and what they took home.
“I had some clothes for a little while, but I don’t remember what happened to them,” Greer told People after playing Fern Mayo, an awkward nerd who gets made over into the popular Vylette. “I had one of my ‘Vylette’ posters and I think it’s in a big tub of work mementos.”
Benz, who played mean girl minion Marcie “Foxy” Fox, recalled she “got to keep one outfit and it was the red, lacy, yellowy-orange top and skirt, and I think I wore that like 80 times until it fell apart.

While Parsons’ character was primarily highlighted in the show, Nayyar’s role as Raj Koothrappali became one of the fan favorites due to his unique personality. But what stood out the most was his peculiar inability to speak to women without the aid of alcohol. Interestingly, this particular quirk has been inspired by a real-life person’s struggle with severe social anxiety.

Lionsgate has unveiled the funny first trailer for the movie called The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, set for theatrical release in November later this year. Which is prime-time holiday season for crowd-pleasing holiday movies like this. It's adapted from the beloved book of the same name by Barbara Robinson – about a set of 6 rowdy kids who nearly ruin Christmas, teaching everybody some lessons about love thy neighbor. Nobody is ready for the mayhem & surprises that ensue when 6 of the worst youngsters disrupt the town's yearly Christmas performance. The actual pageant is full of surprises for everyone, starting with the Herdmans themselves, as they ultimately lead the town in finding the true meaning of Christmas. They will make this year’s pageant the most unusual anyone has seen and, just possibly, the best ever.

Twenty years after its release, the Jennifer Garner-led comedy 13 Going on 30 is still thriving.
Sony released Gary Winick’s comedy in theaters April 23, 2004, and the film earned $96 million ($159 million today) at the global box office. Also featuring Mark Ruffalo, Judy Greer and Andy Serkis, the movie centered on teenage Jenna Rink (played by Christa B. Allen, now known as Christa Belle), who gets embarrassed at a party and makes a wish that transforms her into her 30-year-old self (Garner).
Co-writers Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa, in addition to Belle, separately share with The Hollywood Reporter about other actresses being considered for Garner’s part, Ruffalo feeling hesitant to do the “Thriller” dance, memories of Winick (who died of cancer in 2011 at age 49), the status of a stage musical, and persistent chatter among the film’s team regarding a potential onscreen reboot.
