“The Mickey Mouse Club” first premiered in October 1955 under the leadership of the one and only Walt Disney. The long-lasting variety show served as incubator for more than a few major future stars throughout its run, and during its second iteration in the 1990s, Justin Timberlake, Ryan Gosling, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera all shared airtime as Mousketeers. Here’s a look back at the biggest stars who made appearances on the show.
Annette Funicello
Funicello joined the Mousketeers in 1955 at the age of 12 after being personally discovered at a ballet performance by none other than Walt Disney. She quickly became one of the show’s most popular performers, receiving 6,000 fan letters a week, along with wristwatches and a few engagement rings. Funicello went on to star in several Disney-produced serials and movies, including “The Shaggy Dog” and “Babes in Toyland,” and then switched gears to costar in a...

As a new year dawns, a tribute to those we've lost in the year now ending is merited ... and in 2012, those sad milestones have encompassed some of the most popular personalities in television history.

Thousand Oaks, Calif. (AP) — Don Grady, who was one of television's most beloved big brothers as Robbie Douglas on the long-running 1960s hit "My Three Sons," died Wednesday. He was 68.
His "My Three Sons" co-star Barry Livingston, who played youngest brother Ernie, confirmed Grady's death to The Associated Press. Livingston said Grady had been suffering from cancer and receiving hospice care at his home in Thousand Oaks, Calif. But the exact cause and place of death were not immediately clear.
"It's the oldest cliche in the world when TV brothers start referring to each other like biological brothers, but he was the oldest, and somebody I looked up to and learned from a great deal about life," Livingston said.
Born in San Diego as Don Louis Agrati, Grady had a brief stint singing and dancing on "The Mickey Mouse Club" starting at age 13.

He was then cast as the middle brother, Robbie Douglas, on My Three Sons. Movie star Fred MacMurray played his dad with Stanley Livingston and Tim Considine (another Mickey Mouse Club vet) playing his younger and older brothers respectively. Here’s something you probably haven’t heard anybody say in along, long time—it’s a big week for Barry Livingston. Yes, that BarryLivingston, the one who played the adopted brother Ernie on My Three Sons.Today marks the 50th anniversary of the premiere of the series that made him ahousehold name and he’s got a big movie coming out this weekend.
Now, you might be asking yourself, “Which one was Ernie?”
He was the nerdy one. He wasn’t the dreamy older brotherRobbie (that was Don Grady) and he wasn’t the kind of everyman-ish brother Chip(played by his real-life sib Stanley Livingston). But being one of TV’s mostfamous geeks doesn’t seem to have slowed him down a bit.
Since My Three Sons ended, all the TV brothers have gone onto do some interesting things. Don wrote the theme song to The Phil DonahueShow.

For fans of classic television, there's a unique opportunity for you to listen to, and perhaps even talk to, three members of the Douglas family from My Three Sons!
The beloved sitcom initially revolved around widower Steve Douglas (Fred MacMurray) and his three boys; Mike (Tim Considine), Robbie (Don Grady), and Chip (Stanley Livingston). They were all kept in line by grumpy Uncle Bub (William Frawley), the boy's maternal grandfather.
Bub eventually moves to Ireland because Frawley was supposedly too ill to be insured and had to be let go. Thankfully, Bub's brother Charley (William Demarest) steps in to take his place.
Around the same time, Mike gets married and moves away. Soonafter, Steve adopts Chip's young orphan friend, Ernie (Barry Livingston), and there were three sons in the house (and opening credits) once again.
My Three Sons ran for an amazing 380 episodes and 12 seasons. It's also one...
