"My film 'Badla' on Netflix now. Rs 140cr + world wide gross, I am told. But truly a directors film -- well written, well photographed and well edited. Well done Sujoy Ghosh," Amitabh tweeted on Sunday.

London’s iconic Curzon Mayfair played host to the UK Premiere of Gurinder Chadha’s Viceroy’s House last Tuesday. The British Asian filmmaker led the star cast including Hugh Bonneville, Gillian Anderson, Manish Dayal and Huma Qureshi on the red carpet. Also joining the Premiere were fellow cast members Darshan Jariwala, Lily Travers, Tanveer Ghani and Jaz Deol.

The night saw stars from TV, film and music descend on the red carpet, including Eastenders’ Nitin Ganatra, Pakistani film star Armeena Khan and British chart topping duo Naughty Boy and Emeli Sande.

Viceroy’s House, directed by Gurinder Chadha is releasing nationwide on 3rd March 2017 and stars Hugh Bonneville, Gillian Anderson, Huma Qureshi and Manish Dayal. The film is accompanied by a beautiful and moving score, composed by Oscar and Grammy winning maestro A.R. Rahman. Speaking in a recent interview, Rahman references Viceroy’s House:

“Gurinder’s expectation was to have something very classic, very rooted and at the same time universal. I’ve used the sarangi, a strings and brass orchestra, a lot of flute — mainly classical instruments.”

Viceroy’s House by BAFTA nominated director Gurinder Chadha will celebrate its World Premiere at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival on Sunday 12th February 2017.

Gurinder Chadha, director of Viceroy’S House, said: “I am honoured that Viceroy’S House has been selected by the Berlin Film Festival. The story of the final days of the British Empire in India is making its way to theaters this March in “Viceroy’s House.” Based on a true story, the film is directed by Gurinder Chadha and stars Gillian Anderson as Lady Mountbatten and Hugh Bonneville as Lord Mountbatten. Period drama stars Downton Abbey’s Hugh Bonneville and The X Files’ Gillian Anderson as Lord and Lady Mountbatten.

Pathé International has revealed a raft of sales on Viceroy’s House secured at the American Film Market (Afm) (Nov 4-11).

The period drama has sold to Australia/Nz (Transmission), Germany (Tobis), Greece (Feelgood), Italy (Cinema), Latin America (Gussi), Malaysia (Suraya), Middle East (Gulf), Portugal (Nos), Scandinavia (Nordisk) and Singapore (Shaw).

Pathé will distribute the film in the UK and France and Reliance Entertainment will distribute the film in India.

The film is in postproduction and scheduled for completion in May 2016

Hugh Bonneville ("Downton Abbey") and Gillian Anderson ("Hannibal") are set to star in Gurinder Chadha's "Viceroy's House" which has begun production in Jodhpur, India.

The pair are set to play Lord and Lady Mountbatten in the 1947-set drama when he assumed the post of last Viceroy who was charged with handing India back to its people.

Chadha, Paul Mayeda Berges and Moira Buffini penned the script and filming will run for eight weeks at that location. Lily Travers, Michael Gambon, Simon Callow, Manish Dayal, Huma Qureshi, Tanveer Ghani, Denzil Smith, Neeraj Kabi and Om Puri also star.

Before she sang “Galavaaant” across the castles and fields of England, actress Karen David was filming in London for Atul Malhotra’s Brit Indie film Amar, Akbar & Tony. Amar, Akbar & Tony are three best friends who all are from different backgrounds. It is about the camaraderie and love between these three friends through trials, tribulations, predicaments they face and the happy times as they grow up and come of age.

In the comedy/drama, Karen plays the mysterious character of Meera, but that is all we know! What we do know is that according to director Atul, she has done an incredible job.

I know when we last talked, you were telling me that filming was in the middle of your wedding?...

The London Indian Film Festival hosted the UK premier of Disney’s Million Dollar Arm yesterday and it was attended by producer Mark Ciardi and actor Madhur Mittal amongst a host of other showbiz celebrities including Meera Syal, Kulvinder Ghir, Ameet Chana, Tanveer Ghani, Tanya Franks and Neerja Naik.

The film, which was well received by the excited audience, was followed by a Q&A session with Mark and Madhur, mediated by Sunny and Shay (BBC London 94.9). Much of the audience’s interest revolved around shooting in India, the cast’s chemistry and the film’s basis on a true story.

Mark shared his experiences of struggling in the heat of India, catching Delhi Belly and having to accommodate the incredible Alan Arkin’s requests for filtered water due to his nervousness at catching something whilst filming.
