Weston Coppola Cage, the 33-year-old son of actor Nicolas Cage, was arrested Wednesday on a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Cage was taken into custody at 7:57 a.m. on a warrant stemming from an incident earlier this year. He was released on $150,000 bond less than two hours later, at 9:50 a.m., police records show.

While authorities did not confirm a direct link, the arrest appears to be connected to an altercation on April 28 between Cage and his mother, Christina Fulton, at her Los Angeles home. That incident reportedly began as a verbal dispute before turning physical. Emergency services were called to evaluate Fulton, but she declined hospital treatment. Cage had left the scene before police arrived.

Fulton was attempting to comfort her son, who was experiencing emotional difficulties. Fulton has since denied any argument took place and requested privacy.

The LAPD confirmed that Wes was arrested for “assault with a deadly weapon.” He was arrested by the LAPD’s 77th Division. According to reports, Wes was released on a $150,000 bail.

Weston Cage, the son of actor Nicholas Cage, has been accused of hitting his mother, Christina Fulton.

Fulton has been seen sporting a black eye and facial bruises. Weston is a suspect in a battery report involving his mom at her home in Los Angeles on April 28.

Nicolas Cage has filed for an annulment following his whirlwind marriage to girlfriend Erika Koike in Las Vegas.

The 55-year-old actor submitted an application for annulment on Wednesday, according to court records obtained by People.

Cage and Koike, a makeup artist, filed for a marriage license on Saturday and received their marriage certificate the same day, court records show.

Los Angeles, Nov 13: Nicolas Cage and his ex-girlfriend Christina Fulton's x-rated photos were reportedly stolen from the his home earlier this year and the snapshots are still missing.

According to law enforcement, the intimate pics were stolen by a former handyman, who broke into Fulton's house in April and jacked four computers and box of wild photos, reports tmz.com.

The handyman, Ricardo Orozco, was arrested last month and was charged with felony burglary.

He's pleaded not guilty and is currently being held on $1 million bail.

The photos have yet to be recovered, and we're told police are actively on the hunt, law enforcement officer said.

Fulton hit Cage with a $13 million (£8.1 million) lawsuit in 2009, accusing him of failing to properly transfer a property he gave her, thereby preventing the actress from selling it.

The former couple came face-to-face in a courthouse on Tuesday as Superior Court Judge Teresa Gordon-Sanchez urged them to reach an agreement before trial.

The National Treasure star and his ex appear to have taken the advice and negotiated a settlement to the satisfaction of both parties, reports TMZ.com.

The terms of the agreement have been kept confidential.

But the actor's day in court was not without drama - Fulton told reporters she plans to seek a conservatorship for the former couple's troubled son Weston after he was hospitalised and underwent a mental evaluation last week.

Los Angeles — Nicolas Cage starred in a courthouse drama Tuesday that included negotiating sessions with a judge and ended with the actor settling a multimillion dollar lawsuit with an ex-girlfriend.

The Oscar-winning actor spent more than six hours at a downtown courthouse, repeatedly meeting with the judge who brokered an end to the case filed over payments and a house that Cage's ex-girlfriend claimed she was promised.

Dressed in black suit and tie, Cage faced off with his ex, Christina Fulton, throughout the day. Flanked by deputies he hurriedly walked past her in a hallway when he arrived Tuesday morning and both were apparently present for a final meeting with Superior Court Judge Teresa Sanchez-Gordon that solidified the deal.

He did not speak to reporters when he left just as the courthouse was closing at 4:30 p.m.

The former couple came face-to-face in court on Tuesday in an attempt to settle a $13 million (£8.1 million) property lawsuit.

Fulton told reporters at the courthouse she is taking legal action to oversee Weston after he was hospitalised and underwent a mental evaluation last week after a public brawl with his fitness trainer.

The 20-year-old rocker has since been released from a psychiatric hold, and Cage is adamant Weston doesn't need his mother's help to get by.

He tells TMZ.com, "I hope Ms. Fulton will come to her senses one day and get some help... Weston is a man. I have complete faith he will weather this well."

And the Eyes of Noctum star insists he's trying to distance himself from his mum, adding, "I am a fully capable and self-sufficient adult. I want no contact with Christina Fulton and will never undergo the torment she put me through ever again."

At press time, neither Weston nor his parents had disclosed what that he meant by the "torment".

A judge has urged Nicolas Cage's ex-girlfriend Christina Fulton to reach an out-of-court settlement with the actor in a dispute over her Los Angeles home.

Fulton filed a $13 million (£8.1 million) lawsuit against the actor in 2009, claiming Cage bought her a home but failed to officially transfer the property into her name, preventing Fulton from selling off the house.

Cage's lawyer, Marty Singer, previously insisted, "All of these claims are long-time barred by the statute of limitations and are baseless... We expect this lawsuit to be promptly thrown out."

And on Tuesday Superior Court Judge Teresa Gordon-Sanchez ruled that Fulton couldn't sue Cage for breaching an oral contract and should instead consider reaching an agreement before trial as it would be the "best option for everyone involved".
