Bruce Springsteen on "The Simpsons"? Not yet, and if history holds, not anytime soon. The show has tried to get him as a guest star in many different episodes. There are apparently many Boss fans on the show's staff; voice actor Hank Azaria even has a Springsteen tribute band, "Hank Azaria & the Ez Street Band." Yet, Springsteen has turned down each and every offer.

It might be due to the bad experience the first time the show's creatives asked him. In a 1998 TV Guide interview, "Simpsons" writer Jay Kogen said he saw Springsteen by chance, so he went up and asked him to appear on the series. "He thought I was a maniac. We never heard from him," Kogen recalled.

The former One Direction turned solo performer died on Wednesday after he fell from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Matthews — whose band was inducted into the Rock Hall as part of the Class of 2024 — delivered a take on “A Pirate Looks at Forty,” which Dmb previously performed in concert soon after Buffett’s September 2023 death.

The singer also performed the cover in December 2023 when stopping by the Howard Stern Show.

Peter Frampton’s road to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was a long one. The former Humble Pie guitarist has been eligible as a solo artist since 1997, but he wasn’t even nominated until this year. “It’s something I never expected,” he told Rolling Stone shortly after getting the good news earlier this year. “It’s because I keep working. I’ve never given up. I’ve kept coming back and doing more stuff, and I’ve kept touring. I’ve re-built a following that is now enormous.

Peter Frampton gave an electric performance with Keith Urban at Cleveland’s Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland on Saturday as the guitar god was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Frampton — who was introduced by the Who’s Roger Daltrey — started alone, singing “Baby (Somethin’s Happenin)” and delivering a whaling guitar solo as he sat in an office chair. Urban came out with Frampton next, delivering backing vocals while the two played dueling solos for “Do You Feel Like We Do.” Frampton, meanwhile, showed off his signature talk box sound.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has rolled out a list of performers and presenters for the ceremony set to stream live on Oct. 19, with actor Julia Roberts, hip-hop producer Dr. Dre, pop superstar Dua Lipa and country luminaries Keith Urban and Jelly Roll among those slated to pay tribute to the 2024 inductees next month in Cleveland.

As is its fashion, the Hall often does not distinguish in advance between those who will perform live and those who will offer induction speeches, leaving fans guessing about not just that but who will be honoring who. In many cases it’s easy to connect the dots, though, as when Jimmy Buffett’s longtime band member Mac McAnally and frequent duet partner Kenny Chesney are slated to show up in the year Buffett is being inducted.

Last week, both Peter Frampton and Megadeth canceled concerts scheduled just two days apart at Virginia Credit Union Live in Richmond, Virginia. While onstage in Philadelphia a few days later, Frampton threw Megadeth under the bus with claims that the show couldn’t go on due to structural damage sustained during the band’s soundcheck at the venue. “I’m not blaming them — could have been another band — but it looks pretty like it,” he said. “So, sorry, Megadeth. Peter Frampton is known for using a talk box onstage, but we’ve never known him to talk out of his ass. However, that’s what Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine is accusing the classic rocker of doing in an exchange of words regarding the cancelation of both acts’ shows at the same venue.

As it was, Megadeth canceled their September 15th gig at the Virginia Credit Union Live! at Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Virginia “due to unexpected and unpredictable circumstances.”

Kicking off in Pittsburgh on November 15th, the fall trek will also see Dmb play shows in Columbus, Oh and Uncasville, Ct, before taking the stage at Madison Square Garden in New York City for a two-night run.

Dolly Parton’s life and songs are coming to Broadway. The country music legend announced during a Q&a at CMA Fest this morning in Nashville that Hello, I’m Dolly will debut onstage in New York in 2026.

The children of Steve Marriott, along with his bandmates and fellow rock legends, are fighting against the potential release of recordings featuring new AI-generated versions of the late singer’s vocals.

According to Variety, the recordings were authorized by Marriott’s third wife, Toni Marriott, to whom the rock icon was married to for only two years before he tragically died in a fire at age 44 in 1991.

Steve’s daughter Mollie, on behalf of her siblings, has issued a statement decrying the potential release of these AI-generated recordings. Her stance has been endorsed by Small Faces’ Kenney Jones and Humble Pie’s Peter Frampton and Jerry Shirley, along with such legends as Robert Plant, David Gilmour, Bryan Adams, Paul Weller, Paul Rodgers, and others.

Ozzy Osbourne is known to many as the Prince of Darkness, but now he’s got a new nickname: “The Betty White of Rock ‘n’ Roll.” That comes courtesy of Peter Frampton, a fellow inductee in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2024.

Frampton was asked by Rolling Stone about Ozzy getting in the Rock Hall for the second time (he was also inducted as a member of Black Sabbath in 2006), and the guitar hero responded, “The man is the Betty White of rock & roll.”

We’re not sure Ozzy will be using that as a tagline anytime soon, but Frampton was surely relating the metal icon’s long-lasting career and lovable persona to that of the beloved late Golden Girls actress. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has revealed the names of 16 artistes who will be inducted in 2024. According to ‘Variety’, the diverse list includes R&b/rock pioneer Big Mama Thornton, pop superstars Cher and Dionne Warwick, as well as 1970s-rooted rockers like Peter Frampton, Foreigner, and Ozzy Osbourne, alongside 1990s icons such as the Dave Matthews Band and Mary J. Blige.

Jimmy Buffett’s inclusion among the inductees comes as a surprise. His entry is unexpected not only because the late singer/songwriter was not on the ballot this year but also because he had never been nominated before.

‘Variety’ reports that the Rock Hall’s committee, seemingly in a sentimental mood after Buffett’s passing seven months ago, chose to honour him via a separate, non-voted category for “musical excellence”.

In addition, Jimmy Buffett, MC5, Dionne Warwick, and Norman Whitfield will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in the Musical Excellence category.

Other inductees include Alexis Korner, John Mayall, and Big Mama Thornton, all of who will be honored with the Musical Influence Award. Entertainment producer Suzanne de Passe will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award.

The inductees were determined by an international voting body of more than 1,000 artists, historians, and members of the music industry. In order to be eligible, a nominee’s first recording must have been released at least 25 years ago.

An open letter from the Artists Rights Alliance and signed by more than 200 major figures in the music and entertainment industries is calling on AI companies and digital music service platforms to pledge that they won’t develop or use AI tools “that undermine or replace the human artistry of songwriters and artists or deny us fair compensation for our work.”
