Robert is the Executive Artistic Director of Actors Theatre of Louisville. A director, choreographer, writer, and actor, he has worked in many of the leading resident theaters across the country including Arena Stage where he was previously the Director of Artistic Programming (2014-2016), Cleveland Play House as Associate Artistic Director (2016-2019), The Oregon Shakespeare Festival, The NYSF/ Public Theatre, The Mark Taper Forum, San Jose Rep, The Folger, The Guthrie, The La Jolla Playhouse, A Contemporary Theatre, The Old Globe, Perseverance Theatre, The Alabama Shakespeare Festival, South Coast Repertory and The Goodman. Robert was in the Broadway shows Stand-Up Tragedy and Ragtime and the original production of George C. Wolfe's Jelly's Last Jam. He was an associate producer for the NYC revival of Tennessee Williams' The Two-Character Play starring Amanda Plummer and Brad Dourif. Formerly an Associate Professor and Chair of the Theatre Arts and Performance Studies Department at the University of San Diego, Robert was an SDCF Charles Abbott Fellow.
