Joshua grew in Pittsburgh, PA where he performed and worked in local theater, and then moved to Boston to attend Emerson College to study Theater and Film. After graduating, he stayed in Boston working in Film and TV Production. In 2001 he relocated to Los Angeles, and began a second career as a graphic novelist. His first graphic novel, Elk's Run with artist Noel Tuazon, was nominated for seven Harvey Awards, including Best New Talent, Best Writer, and Best Series. His graphic novel Tumor (also with Noel Tuazon) was nominated for the Eisner Award, and his comic book series Echoes (with artist Rahsan Ekedal) was nominated for several Harvey Awards.
Most of his books have been or are in active development as television series or feature films including Echoes, Tumor, The Bunker, Elk's Run, Alibi, and The Test.
While working in both independent and mainstream comics, Joshua began to work as a writer of Film, Video Games, Animation, and Television. He now works primarily as a TV writer, while also writing features, animation, and comics.
He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and daughter and two very bad (but sweet) dogs.
