- Angelines Fernández was born in Madrid, Spain in 1922. During the Spanish Civil War she was supportive the Republicans, and afterwards the Spanish Maquis. As a result of her support of the Spanish Maquis, she fled Spain in 1947 and after a brief time in Cuba she settled in Mexico. She began acting in films in the mid-1950s and television by the end of the decade. She gained her greatest fame playing Doña Clotilde "La Bruja del 71" on the Mexican sitcom "El Chavo del Ocho."
