Farnese grew up in southern New Jersey, the son of the late Philadelphia TV personality Aldo Farnese. He worked on the production teams that produced "Dance Party USA" and Nickelodeon/MTV shows such as "Double Dare" and Finders Keepers," and was a sound technical apprentice in TV production. Like his father did, he moved to Hollywood to pursue an acting career. While there, he worked in TV, serving as an audience warm up for several shows ("America's Funniest People," "The Tracy Ullman Show") and performing at various Los Angeles theaters. His first major film role was on a relatively unknown independent film "Blossom Time", opposite Laurel Holloman of Showtimes "The L Word." Also like his father, Greg moved back to Philadelphia in 1994 and worked behind the camera for Prism Sports and as a freelance camera operator for CBS, NBC, FOX, ESPN, TNT and many other well established stations. In 1997, Greg joined Comcast Sportsnet in their inaugural year and worked various events in sports and other televised events, most notably the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, the 2001 NBA Finals, the NHL Stanley Cup Finals, the MLB All-Star Game and the World Series. Greg won a National Emmy for his camerawork for The World Series on FOX in 2012. In 2001, Greg established his own production company, SilveryMoon Productions, producing content for television, commercials, web content and documentaries. In 2005, he formed the Greg Farnese Quartet as lead vocalist, specializing in the Great American Songbook of the 1930's, 40's and 50's.
