He began as a stage actor but one evening his voice was suddenly
blocked by fear. He related this incident in La fin du jour (1939), where it happens to
Michel Simon's character.
Died when the car he was driving collided with one that was carrying Maurice Schumann, French President Charles De Gaulle's Minister of Scientific Research.
