A second trailer for CBS’ upcoming daytime drama series “Beyond the Gates” dropped on Friday courtesy of TV Line, which for the first time gives a visual breakdown of characters not previously shown in previous promos.

Leading things off, we’re formally introduced to Hayley Lawson (Marquita Goings), the former mistress turned fiancée of Bill Hamilton (Timon Durrett) as she’s shown her potential new home within the gates of Fairmont Crest, the luxurious community where the Dupree family rule above all.

As the family matriarch, Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie), steps out, someone assists her with her coat, greeting her with a cheerful, “Good Morning, Mrs. Dupree.”

It seems to be the reception area of an upscale hotel; Anita makes her way to a stylish lounge filled with tables, chairs, and a bar, where she joins her eldest daughter. She inquires, “Have you had a chance to talk to Dani?”

Expanding on the Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) storyline, we learn that not only is her ex-husband, Bill Hamilton (Timon Durrett), set to marry the woman he cheated with, but Bill also has some dirt on the family through his experience with getting them out of some tough situations, particularly Dani’s father, Vernon (Clifton Davis).

CBS’ “Beyond the Gates” is one of several shows scheduled to take part in Scad TVfest, the annual television festival that spotlights the latest in design, creativity, and innovation on television, streaming and digital media.

The festival, which runs from February 5-7 in Atlanta, Georgia, will feature a screening and panel discussion with cast members from the daytime drama series on Wednesday, February 5 at 4:30 p.m. local time. Individual tickets to the event cost just $5.00.

The Beyond the Gates premiere is a little over a month away, and the hype is starting to build steam. Over the weekend, CBS Sunday Morning featured a segment focusing on the upcoming CBS soap opera. Thanks to correspondent Nancy Giles, we saw the cast, heard from the show’s executive producers, Sheila Ducksworth and Michele Val Jean, and learned a little more about this groundbreaking daytime drama.

What We Learned Executive Producer Sheila Ducksworth, who is also the president of this CBS/NAACP production, teased what viewers will get to see. She hinted at “plenty of love triangles, plenty of people you love, love to hate” and added that “it’s really juicy.” When Tamara Tunie (Anita Dupree) and Clifton Davis (Vernon Dupree) give Giles the set tour, they take the correspondent to Orphey Gene’s, the diner that’s the gathering place “for everybody in every economic bracket in the show” goes to.

Soap opera fans everywhere are getting excited about Beyond the Gates (Btg), set to premiere in a few weeks. It’s the first new daytime drama to debut since NBC aired Passions back in 1999.

As per Btg press release, the new soap will center on the Duprees, a wealthy family that resides in a Maryland suburb, just outside of Washington, DC.

CBS will add the new soap Beyond the Gates to its daytime line-up in a few weeks.

Beyond the Gates has generated a lot of buzz because of its premise and the fact that a new soap hasn’t debuted on a network in decades.

Following the series finale episode of the veteran daytime talk show, which concludes its 15 season run on Friday, December 20, encore episodes of the popular game show will take over the time slot beginning Monday, December 23. It’ll be the placeholder until the new daytime drama series, “Beyond the Gates,” premieres on Monday, February 24, 2025.

According to the network, the placement of encore episodes marks the only change to the daytime schedule, with its other shows, including original episodes of “The Price is Right,” remaining in their respective time slots.
