“It was the worst-ever terror attack on British soil and the first major one on U.S. citizens,” Netflix and the BBC explained in a press release.
The outlets went on to reveal that the series will center around the attack and the ensuing investigation, a collaborative effort between American and Scottish intelligence agencies.

Brutal British crime drama Gangs of London is back for a second series on Sky Atlantic and Now, with a release date of 20th October in the UK and 17th November in the US, and it’s looking as dark and gritty as ever.
When the explosive first series launched in April 2020, this story of the turbulent power struggles of London’s criminal underworld – centring on the Wallace family and various other international gangs – was an instant hit, at the time becoming Sky Atlantic’s second-biggest original drama launch behind Chernobyl. As dramas go it’s a thrilling powerhouse of a series, full of epic fight scenes and twisty narrative, and certainly isn’t for the faint-hearted gore-wise.
Now it’s back for a second series, fans will certainly be looking forward to seeing their unanswered questions resolved, as well as being introduced to new players in this savage power game.

If you’re confused as to who is actually able to compete for the newly announced virtual Tony Awards this fall, you’re not alone. The Tony Awards Administration Committee announced a new cut off date of February 19, 2020. That means that the 2019-2020 Broadway season was cut incredibly short.
Musical races are most heavily affected by the shortened season. “West Side Story” will have to wait until next year to compete as it opened after the February 19th eligibility cutoff date. Other scheduled revivals of “Caroline, or Change” and “Company” were postponed due to the Broadway shutdown. As such there will be no Revival of a Musical category this year. Other categories, like Best Musical and Director of a Musical, will likely see their number of nominees reduced to three due to a limited number of contenders.
Luckily, there are plenty of plays in contention since many of these non-musical outings premiere in the fall.

“Black Mirror’s” Emmy journey this season has had more twists than a “Black Mirror” episode. After getting permission to stay in the Best TV Movie category, despite its submission “Smithereens” being five minutes short of the new 75-minute requirement, the show was shunted to drama last week. That means instead of the limited/TV movie acting races, “Black Mirror’s” Season 5 stars can now choose to enter in drama lead, supporting or guest. And if any of them or Netflix are torn, take it from us: Go guest.
Current Emmy rules stipulate that performers who appear in less than 50 percent of a show’s season are eligible to compete in guest, but are not required to, so they can pick whatever category they want. But to put it bluntly, guest is arguably where all “Black Mirror” actors belong. The show is an anthology series with a different cast every episode.

Landing last week on Sky and Cinemax, Gangs Of London has been one of the most thrilling and explosive new shows around (check out our review) with a cliffhanger ending that leaves things open for more action.
While Gangs of London series 2 hasn’t been confirmed, there seems to be an appetite for it from show co-creator (along with Matt Flannery) Gareth Evans. Evans told The Metro:
‘There’s room for it. Without giving too much away, we definitely end the season on a note where people will be wanting more and asking what is happening next.
‘I’m treading carefully! It’s sort of a cliff-hanger but as most things it’s a story that takes on a lot of different aspects, there’s a lot of different characters in there, a lot of vested interests, there’s a lot of stray threats trailing in the wind ready to be picked up again.

A new Broadway season is gearing up, and there are currently nine productions of plays set to open this fall. Could we be seeing any of them contend at this year’s Tony Awards? Below, we recap the plot of each play as well as the awards history of its author, cast, creative types, the opening, and (where applicable) closing dates.
“Betrayal” (opens September 5; closes December 8)
In the third Broadway revival of Harold Pinter’s 1978 award-winning play, the story charts a compelling seven-year romance, thrillingly captured in reverse chronological order.
The original Broadway production received Tony nominations for star Blythe Danner and director Peter Hall. This production is coming in after a successful run in London’s West End earlier this year. The cast includes Emmy nominee Tom Hiddleston, Zawe Ashton, SAG winner Charlie Cox, and is directed by Laurence Olivier Award winner Jamie Lloyd.

“Haunting” is a word critics overuse, but sometimes nothing else will do. Still, I’ll do my best to avoid it – after this review of The Height of the Storm, the thoughtful and engrossing new play by Florian Zeller, translated from the French by Christopher Hampton, opening tonight at the Manhattan Theatre Club’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on Broadway.
See, haunting here makes extra sense because the word conjures haunted, and serves well this play of death and ghost-like presences and what happens when the living can’t let go of their beloveds. With just a few shifts in direction and a horror movie score, Height could be one of the best haunted house tales since Nicolle Kidman got spooked by The Others.

Balancing times of peace and periods of conflict is a challenge that almost all military stories face. As soldiers weigh their duty to their work and to their families, the uniform can become an all-encompassing force and few dramatized stories can exist outside its long shadow. Just this year alone, series like “The Long Road Home” and “Six” have struggled to make their characters exist as something more than stand-ins for ideas and fulfillers of narrative obligation.
But “The Last Post,” the latest co-venture between the BBC and Amazon, finds a special balance by reaching decades into the past. Charting the respective experiences of a Royal Military Police unit stationed in Aden, Yemen and the twin drama of their personal family lives, “The Last Post” considers the nature of escalation and retaliation, both within and outside the base’s walls. Drawn in part from writer Peter Moffat’s family experiences at a similar outpost,...

Jaime Winstone (Donkey Punch) will star alongside her father, Ray Winstone (Beowulf) in Ryan Andrews‘ cannibal thriller Elfie Hopkins and the Gammons.
Elfie Hopkins and the Gammons might sound like a new animated adventure for under the 12′s. This is just so wrong. Hot chick, cannibals, blood, fighting, violence, and flipping Beowulf himself, do you really need more to get you excited. Jamie will play the title role, a quirky wannabe detective investigating the Gammons, a weird new family who make move into the village. Ray will play the local butcher. This is the first time both actors have worked together.
Speaking about the role Jaime has said:
Elfie Hopkins has been an alter ego of mine for a while now and I can’t wait for the world to meet her. She’ll kick ass! For me, Elfie’s a dream role to play and I feel there is...

'Elfie Hopkins and the Gammons' might sound like a new animated adventure for under the under 12's but in fact it's a new British cannibal horror which is set to star everyone's favourite Brit hardman Ray Winstone. And now his very own daughter, actress Jaime Winstone ('Donkey Punch', 'Dead Set'), is set to play the title role. Jaime (below) will play Elfie, a quirky 'wanna-be' detective whose appetite for a real-life case is matched by the appetites of a new family (The Gammons) who move into the village. Ray Winstone plays the local butcher and meat is definitely on the menu...The story, a twisted tale of cannibalism set in a British rural hunting village, is set to begin shooting from 8 March in and around the Cardiff, Wales area. Kimberley Nixon, Aneurin Barnard, Gwyneth Keyworth, Amanda Drew and Will Payne are all reportedly co-starring.

Amanda Drew, who plays Dr "Mad" May Wright in EastEnders, has revealed that she is "very good friends" with Catherine Tate. Drew recalled how, on one occasion, her ties with the comedienne drew more press attention than she was used to. "We worked on a play together in 1995 and stayed in touch," said the actress. "She was going to a fashion preview. We met up first and walked to where it was and luckily I had a fairly nice dress, not my usual jeans and trainers. "We walked around the corner and Catherine was photographed all the time. I let Catherine (more)...

EastEnders actress Amanda Drew is to reprise her controversial Walford role as warped Dr 'Mad' May Wright.
The 38-year-old actress will resurrect her sinister screen counterpart after almost a year's break. Viewers last saw May tangled in the midst of Albert Square's baby abduction storyline which led to her character's exit from the soap.
Last year, BBC bosses made the decision to substantially re-write and re-film the ending to the storyline due to events surrounding Madeleine McCann in Portugal. The climax episode still attracted almost 200 complaints.
The plot saw May and husband Rob Minter (Stuart Laing) attempting to steal Dawn Swann's (Kara Tointon) baby via a forced caesarian and came to a head with Drew's character being arrested and subsequently sectioned.
Now, May is to return to . . .
