"If someone has love in their heart for you, or hate, the outside doesn't change." Gravitas has revealed an official trailer for Colorblind, an indie drama from a Canadian filmmaker named Mostafa Keshvari. The film received five nominations at the Whistler Film Festival, was a prize winner at Silver Wave Film Festival, and also screened at the Montreal, Vancouver, and Toronto Black Film Festival. It's arriving on VOD only in the US this April, while also playing at more festivals up in Canada. Magdalene, a colorblind black artist, moves into a new neighborhood with her son, where they are challenged to see the true colors of people. The film was developed by color scientists to accurately display colorblindness and also metaphorically address racism. Colorblind stars Chantel Riley as Magdalene, Trae Maridadi, Garry Chalk, Mike Dopud, and Seth Whittaker. There's some awful dialogue in the trailer, but this still seems like it's a wholesome film.

What do you get if you cross Die Hard, Bad Santa, Home Alone and Santa Claus: The Movie? The answer is Violent Night, a violent Christmas comedy horror that mixes up multiple festive favourites and just about gets away with it.
Directed by Tommy Wirkola (Dead Snow), the film stars David Harbour as a depressed Santa Claus (the real one), who we first meet drowning his sorrows in a pub in Bristol, of all places, before taking off in his sled and vomiting on the bar’s owner from mid-air. With the tone set, we move to the house of the ultra-rich Lightstone household, where mean-spirited matriarch Gertrude (Beverly D’Angelo) has gathered various family members for Christmas Eve,...

For TV critics, this week’s theme is less-buzzy new versions of some of the buzziest shows of the past year. It will be a fun game to see how many reviews discuss Peacock’s The Resort without mentioning HBO’s The White Lotus in the first paragraph (when the more apt comparison is actually Apple TV+’s Acapulco) or Amazon’s Paper Girls without mentioning Netflix’s Stranger Things (when the more apt comparison is actually Netflix’s The Baby-Sitters Club).
The answer may be close to “zero.” (I won’t even try when it comes to Paper Girls.)
I have at least successfully avoided mentioning Showtime’s Yellowjackets until several sentences into my review of Netflix’s Keep Breathing, a so-called limited series that is unquestionably most easily described as a one-woman version of Yellowjackets without any of the sensationalistic — or “fun,...

Series creator and co-showrunner Courtney A. Kemp teased that new shows set in the “Power” universe are in the works.

Dopud plays Jason Micic, a brutal and ruthless Serbian crime boss, and Tommy’s connect, with sights on expanding his network to both coasts at any cost.
Curnen plays Blanca Rodriguez, the incorruptible NYPD Internal Affairs investigator that zeroed in on Angela Valdes while conducting the investigation of the disappearance and probable murder of Detective Raymond Jones, Raina’s killer and a suspected dirty cop.

Kane's (Henry Ian Cusick) fate going into The 100 Season 5 finale has been left very up in the air. The 100 has a well-documented history of delivering epic trailers, but since the Season 5 edition is still being kept under wraps — possibly in the Warner Bros. water tower, right next the Animaniacs — fans have more questions than ever about what’s next for our favorite (and least-favorite) survivors.

"Everyone wants freedom." A trailer has debuted for an indie sci-fi film titled Virtual Revolution, which first premiered in 2016 but is just now trying to get a release. The film also goes by the title 2047 - Virtual Reality in the UK, but I suppose the "virtual reality" in the title is a bit confusing, so they're using Virtual Revolution instead. Virtual Revolution is set in Paris in 2047, where most of the population spends their time online, connected into virtual worlds, and don't care anymore about reality. One "hybrid" (meaning he spends half in the real world, half in the virtual world) agent, who works for the companies that run these virtual worlds, tracks down terrorists who threaten the system. The basically seems like a nice indie mashup between Blade Runner and Ready Player One. This stars Mike Dopud, Jane Badler, Jochen Hägele, Maximilien Poullein, and Kaya Blocksage. Worth a look,...

Now that the countdown to Christmas is over, it’s time to look forward to the next holy holiday: The 100‘s fifth season premiere.

"The Revolution did happen. Just not the way they thought it would." A trailer has arrived online for a French cyberpunk sci-fi film titled Virtual Revolution, an indie project from Guy-Roger Duvert - who also composed the score for this. Set in Paris in 2047, the story is about a "shadow agent" named Nash, played by Mike Dopud, who spends half his time in the Vr world and half in the real world as a private investigator. He's hired by one of the multinational companies behind these virtual worlds to track down terrorists who threaten the system. This definitely has a very low budget feel, but it looks impressive and there seems to be some cool ideas in it. Not sure if it's any good, but they got my attention with this trailer. Here's the trailer (+ poster) for Guy-Roger Duvert's Virtual Revolution, from YouTube (via Quiet Earth): In a...

As video games become more cinematic in their audio-visual aesthetic, so films are looking to video games for inspiration. But though there can be some crossover, these are still two different mediums that require different approaches to storytelling. Guy-Roger Duvert's film Virtual Revolution explores both Vr gaming at its extreme, and the world it creates. At the same time, it attempts to recreate the video game aesthetic in cinema. Unfortunately, while at times the film is entertaining, this attempt to bring video game style and narrative to film doesn't work. In 2047, most of the world's populace is permanently connected to a gaming network, with multiple universes and role playing games in which to exist. Nash (Mike Dopud) works for one of the larger gaming...

A few weeks back we told you that Dr. Uwe Boll was already hard at work on a sequel to his - honestly - great film Rampage, and now, just in time for the European Film Market, we have the exclusive premiere of the film's teaser artwork along with a first look trailer.
Rampage 2 stars Rogue's Brendan Fletcher. The sequel to the original 2009 mass murder thriller was shot over six days in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. Rampage 2 has Fletcher returning as a man who takes over a TV station and holds a number of hostages as a political platform to awaken humanity, instead of for money.
The feature from the prolific German director, who shoots most of his movies in Vancouver, also stars Lochlyn Munro (Tomorrowland), Mike Dopud, and Michaela Ross. Rampage 2 is produced by Natalia Tudge.

After watching her take a rather bland character on The Americans and transforming her into a wonderfully powerful player acting as a triple agent, I’ve nearly fallen in love with the beautifully exotic Annet Mahendru. Seeing her play Nina was the first I’d ever laid eyes on this actress, but now I can’t get enough of her. It seems like I wasn’t the only person she made an impression on because now she’s landed a role on the fifth season of White Collar, which is set to premiere this fall. Mahendru seems like she would be a good fit for White Collar, but I’m so captivated by her I would likely think she’d be a good fit for a Japanese game show.

Annet Mahendru and Mike Dopud have both booked roles on the new season of White Collar.
The actress (recently upped to series regular status on The Americans, and who will appear in The Blacklist pilot this fall) will portray a Russian figure skater on the sixth episode of Season 5.
Dopud (Continuum, Mistresses) will also guest star
on that installment as a Russian gangster, according to TV Line. This clearly means... we have no idea. But Neal and Peter will somehow be brought into the Olympic-and-mob-themed picture. Perhaps due to some kind of judge tampering attempt?
White Collar Season 5 kicks off some time this fall.
Warren Kole also recently signed on to recur on the USA Network. He'll portray Neal's temporary handler while Peter is in custody.
