Hugh Dillon is starting another television gig, but he'd be happy to revisit his last one.
The Canadian actor-musician plays a prison guard who matches wits with a death row inmate (Peter Sarsgaard) when AMC's "The Killing" returns for a third season Sunday, June 2. Dillon's trademark intensity also remains on view in his role as Sgt. Ed Lane in Ion repeats of the elite-police-unit drama "Flashpoint," which has finished its five-season run ... but he hopes that show hasn't seen its absolute end.
"It was one of those great events in life," Dillon tells Zap2it about his "Flashpoint" tenure. "Just yesterday, I was talking to Sergio Di Zio, who played Spike on the show. It's very much like family. Also, I learned technical things there that I could bring to 'The Killing,' things you aren't even aware you've learned that you just bring to the next project."

It's extreme crisis mode on the set of Canada's beloved police drama, "Flashpoint." On location at the Toronto International Marina, a frazzled man named Harold ("CSI: NY"'s A.J. Buckley) is standing on a ferry, screaming frantically. Turns out this shotgun-wielding guy has separated from his wife, is schizophrenic and off his meds. Worst of all, Harold has abducted a baby girl he mistakenly believes is his. In other words, Harold is a walking time bomb waiting to explode.
Also on the scene are Constables Ed Lane (Hugh Dillon), Sam Braddock (David Paetkau) and Julianna "Jules" Callaghan (Amy Jo Johnson) from the Strategic Response Unit (Sru), who are doing their best to diffuse the situation. Obviously, things aren't going well. Harold's confusion is turning to anger and rage as he yells, "Liar! Liar! I would never hurt her!" Before somebody actually does get hurt, Jules slowly inches toward the oblivious...

I’ll give him this: Jason Lapeyre sure didn’t skimp on the blood for his intense looking crime flick “Cold Blooded”. I’m not entirely sure how hygienic it is for the film’s lead to be walking around what seems like half the movie with her face caked in blood, though. It certainly makes for a startling visual, I’ll give the film that, especially considering what a pretty lady in Zoie Palmer they have underneath all that blood. If that’s what they were going for, mission accomplished? Anyways, check out the first trailer for “Cold Blooded”, people who enjoy checking out movie trailers on the web. Just a few updates to end the week.
Blood and Chrome trailer was shown at the BSG panel at WonderCon this weekend. Hero Complex has a report from the panel with Kevin Grazier. Here is a description of the trailer (no, it's not available anywhere yet):
At the end of his talk, Grazier screened a trailer for the upcoming “Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome,” a two-hour television film which is set in the 10th year of the First Cylon War. Edited at rapid-cutting pace to Trent Reznor and Karen O’s cover of “Immigrant Song” for “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” – which was actually quite fitting with images of ice-covered planets and (space)ships – the trailer ended with title cards flashing the words “It’s time for a SyFy game-changer.”Still no official word on what Blood and Chrome is (a TV film or a pilot) even though...

There's finally some good news for fans of CBS's Flashpoint TV show.
Flashpoint follows the work of a group of highly trained police officers called the Strategic Response Unit (Sru). The series stars Enrico Colantoni, David Paetkau, Hugh Dillon, Sergio Di Zio, Michael Cram, Mark Taylor, Ruth Marshall, and Amy Jo Johnson.
After nine months away, the Canada-produced show is finally returning to Us primetime. A repeat of a first season episode, "Scorpio," is scheduled for Saturday, May 29th. Then, new episodes will begin airing on Friday, June 4th. This will be the cop series' third season on CBS.
Though Flashpoint has been off the schedule for a long time, it seemed a certainty that the program would eventually return. CBS purchased 13 additional episodes of Flashpoint in October 2009. Combined with the nine installments that the network already had...

However, according to the Ontario Media Development Corporation (Omdc), the third season of this procedural drama created by Mark Ellis and Stephanie Morgenstern has been in production since January 13, 2010.
Indeed, after a visit on the Omdc's web site, The Cultural Post found a document that lists all the films and TV series that are "filming in Ontario [...] as of April 9, 2010". Besides, to top it all, the Omdc indicates two things about the show. First of all, Flashpoint's production crew can be contacted through this e-mail adress (flashpointproductions@gmail.com). Secondly, the TV show's production team is considered as being "Fully Crewed - No Calls Please".
Finally, Flashpoint's production will wrap up on May 28. Moreover, CTV has yet to announce the premiere date of this Canadian show. As for the American premiere on the TV network CBS,...

CBS has been having a great season. Several of their new shows have been successful and many of their established series are still doing well. Unfortunately, that could be bad news for fans of a little show called Flashpoint.
Flashpoint follows the work of a group of highly trained police officers called the Strategic Response Unit (Sru). The series stars Enrico Colantoni, David Paetkau, Hugh Dillon, Sergio Di Zio, Michael Cram, Mark Taylor, Ruth Marshall, and Amy Jo Johnson.
The show was initially produced for Canada's CTV and CBS picked up the rights to air season one during the writers strike. It ended up performing well for the network and that led CBS to join CTV in renewing it for seasons two and three.
Season three of Flashpoint was supposed to begin airing early this year but the network...
